KPRC has named Rachel McNeill's replacement on the morning newscast.  Taniya Wright, a morning anchor for WNCN in Raleigh, will begin on KPRC on August 5th.  Consumer expert Amy Davis and health reporter Haley Hernandez have been alternating as morning co-anchor on a weekly basis since McNeill's departure.

Taniya Wright has departed from KPRC-TV.  Whether she resigned or was dismissed is currently unclear; the station did not make an official comment.

Her bio has been removed from KPRC's website this afternoon.

A bit of the 5 PM program the following day, during the time the "Scene at 5" had become "Ron Stone at 5". Something about the show's open having it's anchor shown being lifted by Andre the Giant and it's weatherman being pecked by a chicken (Wilma the weather chicken, to be specific) in a well-known clip, just makes sense in my opinion.

Another "Ron Stone at 5" opening from 7/24/1980 with Dan O'Rourke filling in for Stone:

Also, FOX O&Os will be the new home for Weigel's "DECADES" this coming fall.

KTXH in Houston has had Decades on its third sub-channel (OTXH 20.3) since October 2015; it had replaced MundoFox.  I was surprised that none of the CBS-owned TV stations that were CW or independent stations (KMAX or KCAL as respective examples) picked up Decades when their CBS O&O counterparts added Start TV.

  5.

WPLG has picked up Regis and Kelly which will end their 9 AM newscast. They are now though going to be back in the 5 PM News race.

WPLG's sister station, KSAT in San Antonio, is also picking up Regis and Kelly. It will be the first time in one year that San Antonio will have Regis and Kelly back in the Alamo City. WOAI dropped the program in September 2010 and replaced it with Rachel Ray in hopes of building better ratings for S.A. Living

  6. Channel 4 News, the tabloid years? This open, to me, seems similar to the KCBS "Action News" open from the same era.

That music in the Channel 4 News tabloid era (if I'm not mistaken) was used from summer of 1992 (around the time Paul Moyer returned to KNBC) till summer of 1994 when they begin using Michael Boyd's KNBC News music.
