  1. I don't think I saw this posted anywhere, but Jen Lewis, former WAVY (Portsmouth/Norfolk) AM traffic reporter, joined WTKR (Norfolk) in the same capacity last month. She's still a midday radio host on 92.9 The Wave.

I don’t know if it’s fair to make that assessment of all of the teams. I agree about Steve. I think being paired with Lori and falling flat shows that he only attributed to Dari’s issues.

I personally enjoy Rosanna and Bianca.
Dan and Tashanea have only been together for a couple of weeks.

Weather and Traffic wise on Good Day with Mike and Ines - they have been with the team for at least 15 years each. Nick has been on for years. Audrey as well. I think it’s a strong team.

Reporter wise, they are younger - but even some young talent like Teresa Priolo, Robert Moses have over 10 years with the station.

Dari was just... not that good. She wasn't good at FNC either.

  3. I don't know if this means anything, but Heather O'Rourke did a taped report on the many events happening in Manhattan this weekend, and the graphics seemed a bit different than the other graphics throughout the newscast. I'm in the NYC TV market for the weekend, so I don't watch WABC all the time, have their traffic graphics always looked a little different than their other graphics?

  4. I'm pretty sure WBOY is a dominant #1, and WDTV has changed their logo a bunch of times in recent years, if I'm not mistaken. WTOV, as mentioned above, is a dominant #1, I don't think viewers care that much about sets.

I don't think they need to worry about what the Pittsburgh stations are doing, they don't have nearly the same resources as them and the Pittsburgh stations don't really cover WV much to begin with (I know Morgantown is part of the market).

It seems like 6 has either stopped using or has gotten rid of its personal StormTracker radar site (which was based in Warrington, PA). They've stopped referencing their "Live Double Scan" radar and only ever use the NWS radar sites using the MAX Weather System (their radar was controlled and presented on air with Baron software). I'm wondering if this was a pandemic cost cutting casualty.

I think most stations that have/had their own radars now use NWS radars ever since the dual-pol upgrades.

Hell WABC has 3 reporters with 30+ years at the station (Burkett, Dolan, Fleischer), 12 at 20+ (Ritter, Del Giorno, Goldberg, Evans, Bookman, Charlesworth, Torres, Solis, Sager, Yang,  Glassberg and Pineda), 13 at 10+ (Einiger, Kenyon, Cho, Baderinwa, Johnson,  Novarro (two pieces separated by a stint in CHI, Champion (two stints separated by GMA & TWC), Rosato, Sohn, Yates, Richardson, Smith, Miles). The rest are at 9 or less.

WABC doesn't have this attitude or turnover.

WPVI has even more staff with longer tenure. Pretty sure WLS does too.
