  1. i thought there was a mandate that they had to air it at the 7 am air time? fort myers wink use to preempt it by 1 hour especially back to early show days when towards the end they were forced to air the early show subsquently CBSTM in its entirety

KOTV has yet to get that memo as they still push CTM back an hour at 8am.

  2. Another change at KJRH's weather team...

Morning/weekend meteorologist Brittany Rainey is leaving the station to return to Florida after 3 years in the market. Her final broadcast is on Sunday night. She made the announcement on her Facebook page Tuesday.

Meanwhile, KJRH has hired meteorologist (and Tulsa native) Jon Haverfield from KWTX in Waco.

  3. More news from KJRH. The stations' weather team is now down to 3.

AM meteorologist George Flickinger announced on Facebook today that he is leaving the station after 10 years (13 years total in the market, starting at KOKI) to become chief meteorologist at WSET-TV in Lynchburg, Virginia.

    Flickinger's last day is Tuesday.

  4. Today, KOTV announced that they are launching a weekend edition of its' morning newscast "Six In The Morning" starting April 4.

It will air for two hours on Saturdays from 8am-10am (CTM: Saturday will now before it from 6am-8am), and one hour on Sundays at 6am.

This makes KOTV the 3rd station in Tulsa to carry weekend morning news, after KJRH and KOKI. KTUL is probably not too far behind.

  5. Starting Monday, KOKI will join KTUL in starting its' morning newscast at 4:30a.

Former KMIR anchor Elizabeth Beaubien is joining KJRH as its' new morning anchor, also starting Monday.

  6. Meanwhile, here in Market #60, two anchors are leaving KJRH. The weekday morning team of Justin Wilfon and Deena Silk will be leaving the Scripps-owned NBC station. Silk is out after 9 years with Ch. 2 as of tomorrow. Wilfon is leaving in late August for sister station KSHB in Kansas City to join "The Now."

  7. Beginning Saturday, KOTV will expand its' Saturday 6:00p newscast to an hour, replacing the statewide travel show "Discover Oklahoma" at 6:30p. The program is moving to KTUL at the same time (replacing "Wheel" reruns).

  8. Looks like Fox is returning to SatAm with a two-hour E/I block in September. According to today's Cynopsis Kids:

In September, Fox is launching a new two-hour block of Saturday morning programming focused on science and technology. The block, titled “Xploration Station,” was conceived by Steve Rotfeld Productions, which is producing all four half-hour syndicated series: Xploration Awesome Planet, hosted by Philippe Cousteau Jr. (grandson of the famous underwater explorer),Xploration Outer Space, Xploration Earth 2050 and Xploration Animal Science. “I call it outer space, inner space and future space,” Rotfeld tells CynKids of the block. It’s currently cleared in 80% of the US. “Most of the other Saturday-morning stuff is sort of soft adventure and animals,” Rotfeld says, noting the series are aimed at kids and their parents to watch together. “We thought, Let’s try to do something that’s educational but also fascinating, and we thought STEM was a great hook for that, since there’s such a huge movement to advance STEM education.”

  9. Two reporters are out at KJRH. Investigative Reporters Pete Knutson and Michele Lowry are leaving the Scripps-owned Tulsa station. Knutson has been with the station for 16 years, and Lowry for 10 years.
