Well I retract that statement.

Shutting down news operations at CBS 3 is off the table imo. What they need to do is fire a lot of people and bring in new people to run the news division and perhaps the station and bring in new on-air talent.

Fox 29 will never be relevant and be successful in the ratings as long as 6 and 10 are around doing news. 29 has a lot of issues they need to fix with their news division .

I don't know if CBS is going to spend anymore money on KYW's news operation, given how bad it is.

I hate to say this but any moves CBS3 makes with their news division will not turn things around . their news operation is on its last legs and I think every person that follows TV news knows it. Sooner rather than later the low ratings will have huge implications for the station down the road imo , despite the money it makes with the newscasts. Its just a matter of when. Sooner or later , CBS brass is going have to do something drastic.

I love the new set. I'm glad they are at a new super awesome facility downtown. Sad at the same time that they left their former home since 1952.

CBS 3 is in serious trouble right now. One of their lead anchors is leaving. That has to be a big blow for the station and the employees.I don't know if CBS 3 can get anyone from the outside to replace Jessica. Probably everyone knows about the many issues the station has and probably don't want to leave a market and move to Philly work at CBS3. they may have to promote someone from within the news team.

Well said . regardless , changes I think are still needed at fox 29 if they have any chance of surviving long term as a news operation and compete with 6 and 10. Fox 29 should get out of the news business if they strongly feel they can no longer compete or to perhaps cut costs.

I only see fox 29 promoting the good day Philadelphia and the 10 pm news. I wonder will they cancel some newscasts and stick with those 2 shows ?

This 4pm news is going to be a total failure for CBS3. They were stupid to even try and compete with 6 and 10 at that time slot.

Its clear to me and not to the posters on this board that the station must make changes to their news division now, if they want to stay around or fox might as well outsource the news programming on fox 29.

They are doing much better than Philly. They don't have to deal with the powerhouses of 6 and 10. As long as 6 and 10 dominate the ratings , fox 29 doesn't stand a chance .

I can see fox 29 cutting the 5-6:30 p and 11 pm Monday to Friday newscasts along with good day weekend and the 6 pm Saturday and Sunday newscasts.
