And if it can happen in Chattanooga, could it happen in say, Portland ME? Right now FOX is on WPFO 23.1, which doesn't really reach far southern Maine or the New Hampshire counties in the market. Well, it happened. FOX is now only on WTVC 9.2 in Chattanooga, and has changed its branding from "FOX 61" to "FOX Chattanooga". WDSI meanwhile has ThisTV on 61.1 and Comet TV on 61.2. MNT has moved to WFLI 53.2. I thought the article said The CW would be in HD only on cable? 2.3 would still be in SD OTA, with 2.1 and 2.2 in HD. Why would you have three HD channels OTA (like KBMT Beaumont TX)? That would be a waste of bandwidth.

But will CBS 2.2 be in HD OTA, or just for cable viewers?

Sinclair pulling a Tallahassee in Chattanooga? RabbitEars is saying Sinclair has put a simulcast of WDSI FOX 61 on WTVC 9.2 (in HD!). ThisTV, which was on 9.2, could be going away (or moving to WRCB or WDEF). MNT would move from 61.2 to WFLI 53.2. They might be getting ready to take Channel 61 dark (after all, it has a relatively small coverage area). If Sinclair goes through with this plan, Chattanooga would be the largest market (and the first Top 100 market) with a FOX affiliate on a subchannel of a Big 3 station.
