He is the 4pm anchor.According to Jonathan's twitter, his debut was yesterday on WJLA. Did anyone catch in what capacity?
-
You're correct. WRC's made an official post on their site. http://www.nbcwashington.com/on-air/Jim-Vance-Anchor-News4-WRC-Jim-Handly-300961461.htmlMy prediction... Jim Handly at 11PM
(beaten to it by a WTOP article, but whatever...)

The Jacksonville Business Journal is reporting that former WTEV/WAWS anchor Mark Spain has found a new job. Spain's new job is not going to be in Florida, and he is supposedly anchoring the evening news. He will not announce his new position until his new station makes a new announcement. http://www.bizjournals.com/jacksonville/news/2015/03/25/mark-spain-leaving-jacksonville-to-return-to.html

Some sad news coming from El Paso. 5 and 9pm news anchor Erika Castillo has been diagnosed with cancer. Castillo came back to the EP/LC market replacing Hema Mullur.

apparently i never saw this, WFOX and WJAX now have a weekend morning newscast, anchored by Erica Bennett and Meteorologist Erin Clanahan
They've been airing a weekend morning newscast since COX took over.

It's about time! I'm thinking they'll go borderlandmatters.comFINALLY! This will at last be the end of Extreme on KTSM.
-
KTSM's Noreen Jaramillo will be anchoring her last morning newscast today. She will remain in El Paso with family.

He's been doing VOs for KFOX since the station launched newscasts in '95, and they still used him during his sabbatical a few years back. Don't think they'll be getting rid of him for a little while...There's no open up for KFOX but I found a promo posted 4 days ago. The amazing thing, KFOX is still using Scott Chapin.
-
And there goes Mike Barz. WFOX/WJAX are bringing in longtime First Coast News anchor Phil Amato to take Barz's place. Amato debuts next Monday morning.

Think they're saving Malmos for KFOX...

WCIA anchor Dave Benton announced on-air that he had been diagnosed with cancer and only has four to six months to live.

Scary day for two San Francisco TV reporters. KTVU's Cara Liu was beaten by a female Sunday afternoon while covering a story at the flea market. Station sources say she's okay. Also, KRON reporter Jackie Sissel was robbed of their equipment this morning in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. Sissel was getting ready to do a story under an I-280 overpass. Two men with bandannas were the ones who robbed the reporter.

Why would they demote Harper to a reporter? Unless he asked to be a reporter, I think something fishy is going on...Update: As of this morning on WATN/WLMT's bio page, while Cameron Harper is still listed he is now being referred to as a "reporter" for the two stations rather than the weeknight anchor alongside Katina Rankin. So it would appear WATN is indeed looking for a new primary anchor but Harper is staying on with WATN in this reduced role. It's unclear what's caused this change in his position.

WDIV has debuted their new logo... And to be honest, they should've stuck with their old logo..
-
Don't think so.Is her related to Mike Bettes of the Weather Channel (ex-WSYX)?
That means KDBC either getting it's own team or they're sharing with KFOX. KDBC has been needing a new logo and set. They've been using the previous WHAS graphics and News Matrix since 2009 (when the LMA with ComCorp began). Also makes you wonder what will happen with Bettes and if KTSM will keep him or let him go.KDBC and KFOX will be moving into an office building on the west side of El Paso, says FTVLive. For the CBS outlet this means a move away from the space allotted to it at KTSM, though on-air talent will be changing for KDBC:
"In addition, Sinclair is buying its two El Paso stations new live trucks and updating the stations’ graphics, including a new logo for KDBC. Hayes says KDBC on-air talent like longtime weathercaster Robert Bettes remain under contract with KTSM."

Sounds like the "Gaughan Gage" used by WJXT's John Gaughan... 1-10.Its kind of an opinion based weather rating as to conditions in Metro Atlanta and runs from 1-11, 1 being a bad day weatherwise, 11 being a perfect "go out and do something" day.
When it first came out, I always thought it sounded like some kind of poor mans drug test.

Jack Williams announced plans to step away from anchoring full-time at WBZ. He will be staying on board with the station with his Wednesday's Child reports.

I don't think anyone's selling up in the El Paso market unless NP&G puts KVIA on the blockSince Gannett planted their flag here in Texas and bought Belo Corp & London Broadcasting, what are the chances Gannett will purchase TV stations in Midland/Odessa, Amarillo, El Paso, and/or Lubbock?
-
If you look close, there's a heart in the middle of the state... Gannett Loves Texas?New Texas Branding perhaps?

First Coast News anchor Phil Amato has left the duopoly. According to the station's GM, he resigned from the station.
