So what happens?

Duke to nights or stays in the AM, correct me if I am wrong, but in the sports world, the night slot is more desirable?

Whether its taking over the night, or the morning... Who gets the spot? Ryan Asselta or Tina Cervasio? Personally, I'd rather see Tina.

Just throwing another two thoughts out there....

1) Maybe she wants a "night" job, she and Lacy probably barely see each other working their current schedules

2) Maybe Fox 5 has a policy against relatives/spouses working in the same News Division

Jessica Formoso, previously of New 12: The Bronx, is now with WNYW.

Fox 5 is back to using their old website handle... They have gone back to fox5ny.com from myfoxny.com.

The whole website has been updated as well.

 

Ben and Christina were excellent together on Thursday night. Ben was with Allison on Friday night. They actually weren't too bad together. I don't know why but I think changes are being planned/tested. It's weird that all of a sudden they have him on at night, usually they would have Allison and Christina or one of the other reporters. Interesting to see what might happen.

 

I totally agree, I think changes are being planned/tested. I could definitely see Antwan moving back to Good Day Wake Up, it seems as though everyone there loves him (however, it also seems like everyone loves Ben as well)

All I know is if there are changes, Christina better have in increased role. Based on time, merit, performance, longevity.... she deserves it!!! (obviously I am a huge supporter) especially over Alison.

What I would love (minus Alison - I'd rather see Priolo there) to see happen, and I honestly could see it happening...

Interesting anchor line-ups today: Antwan anchored with Juliet on GDWU and Ben Simmenau anchored with Christina Park today at 5pm. Ben's pretty solid as a hard news anchor, has he ever anchored in the evening before?

I thought the same exact thing... I must add I did really enjoy Christina and Ben... Christina is always so great with everyone she is with, she needs a Mon-Fri spot she is just too good!

I also must add, I wonder what brought on these weird pairings.... Steve Lacy's first "subbing" at night came the week that Dave Price was duped, Greg returned to GDNY and Lacy moved to nights....

They always make me think when they try out these weird pairings, when there would be less weird ones (like keeping Ben/Juliet and using Christina and Kerry or Alison).... Makes me think what may happen.

Also, why is it that Antwan will never sub on Weekday nights?

It appears as thought Ti Hua Chang is no longer with WNYW, his bio has been removed from the website.

 

Like her or not, Allison Morris is quickly becoming the face of FOX 5. She's filling in again with Steve tonight.

 

I know you are a bit of an expert of sorts... so here goes my question for you... Do you really think so?

I mean, I didn't realize this on Friday when I posted, Christina Park was off this weekend (so she was probably off Friday as well)... and it appears as though her set days off are always Monday and Tuesday (as she can't anchor M-F and her regular weekend. So is it that Alison is really taking over as the primary fill in, do you think?

I really hope not.... Christina is much better and she deserves it based on time put it (not to mention talent)

 

Wasn't she one of the main anchors at the FOX station in CT? If so I'm wondering if that's why they are having her being one of the main fill-ins when one of the regulars is off.

 

My biggest point is that they have Christina Park who has been the primary fill in anchor for years now... I just hope this Morris girl isn't going to take the next spot that come up over Christina Park... because she should be the primary fill in and next in line.

I agree it is a bit awkward, but they do definitely make it work. I didn't realize Anna Gilligan had one until you said it and I went back and watch it!

However, what I find the most awkward is how they allow Alison Morris to fill in... I just do not get it. I had to turn the news off last night.

I hope that Fox 5 gets these fill in anchors right, with so much talent (Priolo, Park, even Drew and Crowley) Alison Morris should not be allowed to sit at the anchor desk. Last week with Ben Simmoneau, and last night with Steve Lacy, she is just unwatchable, more that any other anchor I have seen on WNYW. I'd rather Dari!

What I would love to see happen to GDWU that would probably never happen is this...

Antwan has proven how great he is on GDWU... And I think Christina was fantastic when she was on GDWU years ago with Reid Lamberty.... And, they have shown they are amazing together... It should be a no-brainer, Christina and Antwan for GDWU!

I have to say, Fox 5 is so lucky that they, in my opinion have 2 fantastic perspectives to take on major anchor roles in the years to come if any leads are to leave - Teresa Priolo and Christina Park... I think those two are just too great to be a reporter/fill in anchor and weekend anchor.

 

He seems like a nice guy, but Ben Simmoneau is a brutal watch. No personality, not suited for morning show small talk, particularly when he fills in on GDNY.

 

I actually happen to like Ben, a lot, so maybe I am biased. I will however say, he is not someone who does well with a not so great co-anchor. He is fantastic IMO with Juliet and with Teresa Priolo, who are both fantastic.

I cannot watch the pairing of him and Kerry Drew... But Kerry is the real issue, dry as a bone with a forced fake personality there.

And, watching Friday was rough, I am not a huge fan of Alison Morris, something about her doesn't work with me

It looks like Joel Waldman is gone from Fox 5. Such a shame, I thought he was their strongest male reporter. Wish him the best.

I have a question. Does anyone know how the show at 6:00 is doing? Also what are they going to do when Ernie goes on vacation or takes off? Is someone going to do the show in the same format or will they do a newscast?

We finally know what happens when Ernie takes off! Christina fills in with the same format (she tweeted that she's in all week)

So far, I think she's a fantastic fit for this format!!! They really need to move this girl to be on every night, she is too good for just the weekend!

Just noting.... Julie Chang is back at GDNY for one day today at 9:15. Thought some people might be interested

According to Audrey Puente's Twitter, today is John Huddy's last day at Fox 5… He was great, big loss for the station. Wonder where he is going?!

Steve Lacy Taresa Priolo and Mike Woods were the team at 5pm today.. I liked them a lot. They should really consider making changes

 

I agree. I think Teresa and Steve are great together. It was interesting that they put Teresa at 5 & 10…. I know Kerry Drew worked GDNY reporting and then I am pretty sure at least one of the nights I saw Sharon reporting… It makes me wonder why all of a sudden now Teresa is filling in at 5 & 10…. I think changes may be a coming…...

Especially think back a year….. Steve was "subbing" for a few nights on the 5 & 10 before DP was dropped and Greg was moved back….

IF they are making changed my suggestions….

1) KEEP Rosanna, Greg, Mike and Ines

2) More Christina Park and Teresa Priolo

3) Less Dari Alexander and Juliet Huddy

 

Yes Audrey is doing great as usual.

 

I think Fox 5 is very smart, if they are doing what I think they are doing.

I think they have learned (probably from the Greg/Dave/Ernie disaster) that they need to prepare changes.

I see the two main preparations they are making being Christina (when not on maternity leave) and Audrey... I **think** (is the key word) that in the next few years we will be seeing much more of these two...

On another note, has anyone else noticed that since Antwan has been moved to weekends, he is barely on. I'm wondering how much longer he will be with WNYW considering how little he is one... Its also interesting wondering why he isn't the fill in for any of the male anchors.....

I've been looking for this for a while....

All we need is Rosanna, Greg, Mike and Ines in the morning! Hope this team is in place for many years to come!

All that needs to happen now is for Christina Park to replace Dari!

They started it about a week and a half ago. Very refreashing approach to the news. Its still "newsy" but more visually appealing.

Teresa Priolo is now a full time reporter for Fox 5, not freelance anymore.

Random, but this leads me to ask the question, with having so many "staff members" who is freelance and who is full time.

I'd assume (at this point) based on this article Teresa 100% is a full timer, Audrey Puente (just an assumption) and Juliet Huddy are all probably full time and not freelance because they are regulars. Why don't they have bios on the website?

Then... Lidia Curanaj has been there for 3-4? years.... Is she full or freelance?

And Sharon Crowley is always filling in at the desk... but is she only freelance as well?

Greg/Dari GDNY - most awful edition ever.

Yeah I agree.. Antwan Lewis filled in on Friday morning but I really like him much better as a reporter.. They need to find a replacement for the Good Day Wake Up spot.. Juliet Huddy is growing on me and if they find the right person it will work.. They also need a weekend weather cause right now they only have 2 weather people plus Audrey Purnte who is technically my9.. They always have the FOX5 weather person do the forecast on Thurs and Fri for ch9 since those are Audrey's days off. The weird thing is last week when Rosanna was off Christina Park filled in so idk why she couldn't fill in for Greg.

By the way that the fill ins have been looking, Kerry Drew has been doing a lot more nights, where she was typically in the mornings.

Considering Juliet Huddy is not yet "official" - when I say that, 1) Her bio is not on the WNYW site 2) She hasnt been confirmed by any outlets to be the permanent anchor.... I could see them wanting to move Christina Park to the GDEC/GDWU - which she was on before, so it wouldn't be a huge stretch! And then moving Kerry Drew to anchor weekends and report during the week.

This is probably wishful thinking because I love Christina, but before Steve Lacy was moved to nights, they did experiment with him filling in a few times!, But I could see it happening, I dont think its a huge stretch.
