It's like that now at noon as well. I doubt they are going back so maybe a glitch or mistake, we will see what sticks...The WABC on screen bug is back to the old glossy ABC logo this morning... You know, after watching Heather these past 8 months and having Joe back for the week, I have to say, I think both are great but I think Heather does just as well "bantering" or whatever you wanna call it with the team as Joe does. I think Heather is just a little more "fresh" in the morning. I really hope they aren't gonna try to put Joe back, I love watching him but I have really come to enjoy Heather in the mornings. And if you look at Lori, Ken, Bill and Heather's twitter pages, they clearly have a blast on and off the camera.Joe Nolan is back in the mornings......for this week only. He's filling in for Heather O'Rourke while she's on vacation.
Are WCBS and WNBC doing it this year as well? I assume so but haven't seen any commercials on it like WABC is running now.Channel 7 will produce a rare one hour prime time 10pm edition of Eyewitness News on Tuesday night for the local political primary results. It'll be followed by the regular edition of Eyewitness News at 11.
Earlier Tuesday evening, ABC News will carry the President's live address to the nation.
A busy night of news for WABC-TV.

I honestly don't think we have much to worry about. Ratings will probably not be as good as ABC 7 News at 11am and WCL will probably be shortened to 30min or cut for the news eventually.

I agree with everything but an update to the music could be nice. I would love if they went back to ABC7 Eyewitness News instead of channel 7.I'm assuming it's new talent opens and graphics. Hope the music doesn't change too much.. It's 14 years old this month and still great news music. -
I'm getting a vibe from nynewsguy's post that suggests its more than that.It might be the new talent opens that they shot a couple of weeks ago. -
I wonder (but doubt) if they will go with the KABC graphics. Anyway truly looking forward to finding out. I assume they will also debut the new opens and promos this weekend too then?Get ready for a new look to Eyewitness News.this coming weekend.

Oh, I absolutely hate one evening news team but I think that is the way they would move if Dana retires, moves or is not extended.I really like Maurice an Kristine but there's something about having only one anchor team in the evenings that I just don't like Idk what it is but whatever. I would like to see Dick Brennan and Alice Gainer do the 6 along with the 9 if Dana got moved -
I could see them following WBBM and having Maurice and Kristine do all evening broadcasts on WCBS.WCBS wanting to go with a younger audience on weekdays and they likely won't want 5 weeknight anchors. Perhaps they will also have Maurice and Kristine do the 6 pm newscast along with the 5 and 11 pm newscast. Replacing Rob with Chris might have been in the works before his arrest for domestic violence and perhaps being on the verge of losing his job sent him over the edge.

It had previously aired. I actually got a video of it, it is a very good promo. Likely to replace the current "More reporters on the ground etc..." promo. Very nice promo plus it has the new logo.They have a slick new promo touting their reporters and that Eyewitness News is all about local news. Saw it first during Sunday's 11pm news. Not sure if it has aired again since or has been on prior to that,"

Clearly people disagree with you considering they are the most watched morning news in NY by a long shot. Sometimes I think we just want some kind of change because it can get boring to follow NYC News behind the scene otherwise. No anchor change is needed at WABC.I know WABC doesn't like to mess with their teams and they are #1 in the morning spot but I really wish they would get rid of Ken Rosato and have the spot to Phil Lipof cause in my opinion he's is a thousand times better and seems to have better chemistry with Lori Stokes.

I hope they add Heather to the morning open because she really is an important part of the newscasts (just as much so as Bill Evans).

I noticed today that instead of a "Special Weather Report," they now use "This is a Channel 7 Eyewitness News AcuuWeather Alert.

I just saw it for the start of EWN at 5. It has this look [see below] and says "This is breaking news from Channel 7 Eyewitness News." Certainly has a sound of KABC.No it was a different one. That cue with the one you're talking about is one of those 5 second tag from another theme Series 1. This one was a different one. It was aired at the start of the 6pm open with Charlie Van Dyke stating "This is Breaking News from Channel 7 Eyewitness News" or something along those lines and then they showed what happened in Oklahoma. The cue begins with the WABC Melody' date=' and then you'll hear that. It's like someone smack-dab that melody on there. This obviously had to be customized.I expect they will use it for either or both the 5:30 and 6 open, I will try to record it.

I didn't get to watch EWN at 6 tonight but was it the Breaking News open as seen in this EWN video at :29?I just seen the live stream of WABC's newscast just now and during their 6pm show. When did they start using that customized KABC Breaking News cue for their special "Breaking News" news open? The cue, which they attached the WABC EWN Logo at the beginning. WABC has updated there logo with the new abc logo and an updated 7.
Also, I don't see it posted but they are now using "breaking news" in the breaking news open instead of "Special Report."
