  1. Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but I asked Ginger who will be filling in for her while she is away. She said that there will be a bunch of different people, including Spencer Christian.
  2. Lara Spencer has been named co-host alongside Robin and George. http://ftvlive.com/todays-news/2014/4/18/lara-spencer-bumped-up-at-gma
  3. WCNC has been making changes lately. They changed the LEDs on the set from blue to gray in some areas, to tone down the blue. They've also started the 11pm news standing in front of a large monitor they have. I think the entire newscast may have been there yesterday - they were standing around it at the close. I'm guessing this is from their interim news director?
  4. I'm still getting it here: http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/live
  5. WSOC's helicopter helped police recently with a manhunt. Also, it looks like WCNC no longer has their helicopter, Airstar. It is mentioned that they let the contract lapse after the acquisition by Gannett. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2014/03/14/4763668/wsocs-chopper-takes-high-ground.html#.UyNwPMu9KSP
  6. Corrie Harding, news director at WCNC, is leaving for a job at NBC News in New York. More from Mark Washburn: http://charlottemediascene.blogspot.com/2014/01/wcnc-news-director-leaving-for-nbc-job.html
  7. WCNC (Gannett) had parts of their newscasts from an ice desk tonight: @CLTNewsWatch: The NBC Charlotte ice desk! @sonjaganttwcnc @wcnc http://t.co/gBvGhlDH3F @wcnc: #NBCCLT #icedesk! It debuts on the 4 p.m. newscast! Be sure to watch! http://t.co/TxFdquE9h3
  8. According to Erika's Twitter account, she is joining WCVB.
  9. Some of the anchors posted pictures when they were filming the opens over the summer, and they are very similar to what they have now.
  10. If the newscast is successful, do you think they might start a 6pm weekday newscast?
  11. WJZY, FOX 46 Carolinas, has started hiring people for their newscast, launching in January of 2014. Right now there are listings for anchors, reporters, and behind the scenes staff. Looks like not all of the hires will be internal. Look for WJZY on the FOX Careers website: http://www.21cf.com/JobSearch/Results/
  12. I would have thought that she would have a contract with Al Jazeera. Was she seen on air on Al Jazeera? It was only a couple of weeks ago that she left WCCB.
  13. Kellie Patterson is moving to Denver, Colorado. Today was her last day at WCNC.
  14. Her agent is Ken Lindner, so I'm thinking she's moving to a higher market.
  15. Kellie Patterson is leaving WCNC for another, unannounced anchoring position. She joined WCNC in 2010. Also, WBTV has hired a new reporter, Pamela Escobar.
  16. It might be the new talent opens that they shot a couple of weeks ago.
  17. I don't think WCNC will want to lose Judge Judy.
  18. Tonight is Morgan Fogartys last night at WCCB. She is moving to an anchoring position at Al Jazeera America.
  19. I actually toured WABC yesterday will Bill Ritter. While we were waiting for him and Liz to come down to the lobby to go to the studio, we saw Kemberly and Lauren Glassberg running to go to the studio, so Lauren could end her story. She didn't make it though, but it is really nice to be on their set.
  20. WJZY (Soon to be Fox 46 Carolinas) has appointed Geoff Roth to oversee the development of WJZY's in house newscasts. He comes from the Fox owned station, KRIV (Fox Houston). He will oversee the construction of a newsroom, and news operation from the ground up.
  21. Morgan Fogarty is leaving WCCB at the end of July for a national position
  22. Christine Noel at WCCB Charlotte is moving to weekend anchor. http://www.wccbcharlotte.com/news/top-stories/The-Rising-Crew-Sends-Christine-Off-With-a-Bang-209057421.html
