I've never seen them try to cut corners. I figured they would use the failing station waiver to acquire the station. I honestly would reject the case, although they might be accepted in the other waiver. Interestingly, though, with the same interpretation - if rejected by the FCC - Sinclair would have to divest WGHP to keep its duopoly, or break up the WXLV/WMYV duopoly in separate directions, as there would only be 7 or 8 voices in the market.

That's not going to work! Unless KVIQ goes off the air and is moved to 3.2 (which I believe is empty right now). Another possibility is that KVIQ is sold to Heartland; tied to KHSL/KNVN and becomes a satellite of KHSL.

If WTVZ is shut down though, there likely wouldn't be enough full-powers left to form a duopoly with WSKY.

How about "FoXtra 9"? That would be a creative use of the X and emphasize the channel number of the current MyTV station.

It's practically irrelevant now. I'd expect most of their subchannel affiliates to find a new programming source that may want an upgrade to a DT2 from a DT3/4 (since those are usually crap signals).

It's not the same station, but if they wanted to they could rebrand WISH as WLWI and make it a de facto "spiritual successor"... Ahhhh...everything old is new again. Has Nexstar EVER owned any radio assets?

They still need WLWT though, which is pretty much out of reach unless they make a trade.

Given how she did there and what she did to ratings, I am sure one of the rival stations would sign Angela Taylor as soon as an opening comes up. I think a spot on the Fox 35 morning show would be best for her alongside Amy Kaufeldt.

Since they are all different DMA's, what they did was completely legal. I believe some counties are assigned to Denver, which makes zero sense. Lots of room for a Fox affiliate, either through an extra subchannel or a low-power station.

Nexstar can't acquire KAKE+ though as they already own KSNW+.

Unless Raycom starts a standalone news operation? I don't think Knoxville has ever had four operations. There are 10 full powers with 9 owners in Knoxville, so one of them CAN legally acquire WKNX and create a duopoly.

Given that the area is quite hilly with large valleys, having its transmitter on VHF 2 is not as bad as you would think, since it would penetrate into the valleys a lot better. Although having it on VHF-high would be best in that case.

Now we await Gray's next move...there are at least a dozen stations I can see that they would be interested in. Problem is that acquiring them is slow as they don't have the money for a blockbuster.

It seems as well it is the first time that Scottsbluff has had its own news operation for far western Nebraska? The DMA lines definitely need to be redrawn in that area - I'd put ALL of Nebraska outside of the Omaha metro into a single DMA. Heck, Gray has created such a tangled web in the Plains that you could argue that the whole region is one market with at least 6 "sub-markets".

Gray is VERY fast at updating websites - the deal isn't even closed yet, but WCAX has the Gray layout. It probably helps that they don't make mega-deals so they can quickly design them and make the switch.

I will say that some on the left have gone too far as well. They are also misidentifying several stations as Sinclair whenever a conservative politician appears on their newscasts (they have to sometimes, even in markets where Sinclair is absent). I've seen tweets calling out WTVG (Gray), WOWK (Nexstar), KRIV (Fox O&O) and WCNC (Tegna), at least, incorrectly calling for boycotts or action saying they were owned by Sinclair (when they aren't).

EXTREMELY loyal. They are also the most reliable voters in the country.

Probably the easiest way for them to achieve that is to acquire Fox News from NewsCorp.
