Yeah, I agree that 5 years is a really long time and a refresh was more than predictable. I feel like their package with all the 3D elements along with their current EWN cut make WABC unique and remember, they're still "New Yorks #1 News" for the most part to this day. I also wouldn't say the new graphics are bad, but it's too drastic of a change in my opinion, but who knows, maybe change will be a good thing in this case (which it probably will be).

New weather graphics hinted during the 6pm weathercast. A new font seen in the radar/satellite pic, new font and bar for the temps, and a new animation and font for upcoming weather. I am not a big fan of the upcoming changes. I love WABC's current graphics in every way.

It looks like Lori Stokes is doing EWN at Noon for a whole hour until 1. For some reason they're not doing "Who Wants To Be a Millionare". Strange.

Yeah, watching the noon show and she's on it. Remember her from the old AccuWeather days. Maybe today she went to WCBS for the morning and noon, and will drive back to Philly for the 5, 6, and 11? I think that's when she is on at KYW.

I agree with you 100%. And yeah, a new young V/O was heard for the 5PM promo.

The promo is alright, not as "fun" as the musical WABC promos, but a nice hard news promo; what news is mostly about.

Rob Powers is anchoring EWN First at 4 today, and he is doing very well!

I saw! I think that was a pretty nice piece to end off a hard news day with the JFK Tribute, etc. Also, its Friday! What a nice way to end off the week!

I dont often watch WNBC, but I have seen new stuff in their promos and etc. It doesn't sound like the LA Groove and I'm speculating it is part of the new Gari package that sounds like LA Groove as seen on their demo "Look F orchestral". The graphics don't seem like the original look f either, guessing they're an update.

Yes, Heather's in it! I wonder if any other O&O's have traffic in their morning opens? Charlie in my opinion says her name a little funny, maybe because I'm not used to it.

Yeah, Lee is consistent through all the opens (same footage used). I wished though there would be a little more orange and yellow element; in other words more diverse color (like WLS's new GFX feature).

Appears again that the ABC 7 logo is to the right compared to before. Also, Sade seems so tall in the group footage!

Here is what I mean.

A big difference I see between the two talent footages is that the old had more turn, while the new footage doesn't have much movement. Also, the ABC 7 logo seems to be a tiny bit bigger and to the right than before. I have comparing photos, which I will upload online in a few.

I knew it was me. The 11 opens had not been talent opens for months, so it sounded different at first. Confirmed for tomorrow, so I'll record and post them for 4, 5 and 6.

That open is a nice refresh! Did they redo Charlie's v/o a little or is it just me? The new flat ABC logo is kinda off with the overall appearance in my opinion. I think there is more blue than before and I think there is a little too much of it in there! I wanted WABC to update it with a little variety of colors like WLS with more orange and yellow. But change is always needed and we got it in a littler way!

Well I couldn't clearly hear, so I first assumed it was what I first mentioned. But, yes I guess it is Howard Stern's thing.
