  1. Who then becomes ABC? And what happens to WMUR?
  2. ASN is taking over production of NESN's Hockey East package and will distribute many of the games outside New England. Noticably absent is the Beanpotthough it's awkward schedule on consecutive Mondays (and other assorted factors) could be why.
  3. UConn is there not necessairily out of want more than being stonewalled out of where they wanted to go. If they get an opening to bolt, UConn will. Is that really worth Sinclair using precious space towards 39% to take that risk? As it is WCTX airs ASN programming already so it isn't like Sinclair is needing clearance there.
  4. Hasn't he been a liability for some time just drifting from station to station? Prior to this he was at the FioS1 end of RNN.
  5. I think they'd evolve TTC into being a full-time ASN channel if anything.
  6. Given the commute patterns in DC, a 7:00 makes sense more than being the third station doing a 4:00.
  7. A 1996 extended new viewer promo/pitch tape for WRNN including clips from a 1995 newscast
  8. A friend from WATE says that he is headed to WKRN. Somehow, this is a good hire for WKRN since they're banking on getting WTVF viewers when Scripps inevitably shoot themselves in the foot there
  9. Does this mean Nexstar will finally have to invest in WIVT? It felt like they wanted WICZ in part so they could assume their news department.
  10. "Main anchor". What happens to Leon Harris? WBZ is totally screwed for a replacement when they have nobody ready to promote but foresight isn't their strong suit.
  11. IIRC his interest in MG came via the Young merger.
  12. Begin the countdown for WKTV going HD in 5, 4, 3...
  13. I have a feeling that this will happen at WRGB sooner than later given their graphics are new and Sinclair could've held out several more months. The timing of the intros can accomodate Glass just as well as they do Impact. On the tangent of graphics, how hard would it be to port the WRGB graphics to WPMI? The WOAI/KABB solution would be a tough go there since they still compete with WEAR.
  14. Either he's going there to run things or WFFF/WVNY is adding news. Won't be much of a clash, the Vermont pair got the "Local" branding and graphics similar to WATN not too long ago.
  15. Somehow having three stations in Shreveport is halal?
  16. Offer void in Binghamton and to a degree Utica*. Then again, as I said in the No Emotion Box I think the stalled buy of WICZ is largely to get their news department. *WUTR could stand to expand a little as much as WMBD, WDHN, KAMR, and KMID can use some TLC.
  17. For what reasons? (Misremembered story redacted) The WHD calls lasted until at least the late 2000s on WRC's front sign facing Nebraska Ave NW.
  18. Or how WRC dragged their heels with going HD until 2010, a good 18 months after WTTG and WJLA did days apart from each other.
  19. Going back to the 1979-2002 logo would've been better than...that.
  20. Out in Albany, WNYT's Bill Lambdin is leaving the station next week after 34 years. With a lot of their core getting older, it'll be interesting to see how 13 deals with heavy turnover of star talent in the coming years.
  21. When the Hearst/TWC impasse happened a couple years back and WTWO was brought in to fill for WLWT, the Enquirer did a bit on her parents being overjoyed to watch her daughter as a silver lining. If it isn't her I'll be semi-shocked.
  22. Correct. Even with WTTG expanding their weekend morning news, DC still lags behind even many medium markets on weekend mornings (10:00 too but that's more the fault of Tribune twiddling their thumbs and not hitching up with someone).
  23. I think that goes to a legit third party. As much as they're a reclamation project, WEVV would fit like a glove with LIN/MG's other Indiana stations.
