  1. KING has up the L3's up the whole time. It's just more compact to the bottom of the screen. Their only issue is the last few letters are under the bug, as they haven't gotten used to the small space.
  2. To each his own. I hate tickers. They are annoying as they scroll across. If you want to read news go online. I like the rundown and knowing what's coming up. I can judge if I want to go do something and come back to see what interests me.
  3. KREM made their graphics change today at 5pm. Didn't use the same cut as KING. And their weather graphics seem to still be the old ones.....
  4. Anyone heard any rumbles as to KREM's plans to change graphics and website?
  5. That is correct. They were afraid people would think they were the same company and they had no control over the programming content. Well until Belo purchased it and KING then liked the gorilla reference.
  6. Yes, the promos about the graphics changes are from the corporate level. Some of them use the exact same explanation package. Some do one that is more custom. Most of the BELO stations used the basic one that all the original Gannett stations used a year ago.
  7. So, I watched KENS last night and they do in fact call it "Friday Night Football" and all the graphics are based on this. There is a single graphic in the background referencing USA Today and a couple of the screen transitions used that graphic. Otherwise, it was presented completely local. Sooooo...not buying this version of Gannett/USA Today rant...I think we all get you don't like Gannett...
  8. KREM has a new morning news promo using TIH even though they have yet to make the switch.
  9. I think you are over estimating the common tv watcher, as most people don't care who owns the station they are watching. They just want to see the news if that's what they are looking for, or the tv program they like.
  10. Anyone seeing any promos for potential changes this week? Still waiting on WFAA, KHOU, KREM and KTVB.....
  11. NWCN is advertising that the website will change this Wednesday. I am assuming KING will also change then too.
  12. I would expect WHAS and KGW to NOT have the Gannett ownership line, as both are owned by Sander. I would expect KING to have it, they are wholly owned by Gannett.
  13. Well, looks like no one made a TV graphics change this week. I haven't seen any "teasers" on KTVB or KREM...figured they would be next. It appears ux.wfaa.com is up, as well as ux.nwcn.com. ux.king5.com has been working at times, usually errors out. So, there is more to come..
  14. OK, who will it be this week for the graphics change? 1) KTVB 2) KREM 3) KENS 4) KVUE 5) KHOU 6) WFAA Not many left from the BELO era!
  15. Those kind of complaints are common. And the screen issue is a setting on their TV, even if they don't think it is. Alot of people like to watch zoomed TV, as it's like it was in the past, and not in the wide screen. This is one of the first news packages that is completely based on widescreen and not 4:3. It all stops after a few days.
  16. Oh, just a heads up. If you upload anything from KTVB in Boise, they will have it pulled for copyright. Apparently they don't like people to post and/or like their stuff to YouTube. So, just a warning
  17. Check KENS5.com, they have multiple headings in Times Roman, not the Gannett font....
  18. Anyone else noticing the font for the "VIDEO" link buton is different from the rest?
  19. I guess I will be the unpopular one, but I don't think Texas should be spared from the change just because it's Texas. And I doubt that Gannett sees it that way either. You could come up with an argument with every station or cluster of Gannett stations why they should get to do their own thing, but when it comes down to it....no one is more special than the other.
  20. So if my record keeping is up to date, the following stations have yet to make the switch to the Gannett graphics: WCNC (Poss July 30) WFAA (Poss Aug 20) KHOU KENS KVUE KREM KTVB And all London Broadcasting Stations. The following stations have yet to make their website switch: WVEC WHAS WWL WFAA KHOU KREM KING NWCN KGW All London Broadcasting Stations. Anyone seen any teasers about changes coming with any of these stations?
  21. Opinions will vary greatly. I like the KING and KGW cuts, and I also like the WWL cut. Yet, alot of people don't like them. Some people just don't like TIH because it belongs to Gannett and they don't like them. It's just how it is... Do I think they could do more with the graphics and music...you betcha! I wish they would look more at stations like KUSA (and yes there are others) that have embraced the change and made it work. We'll see. But it is what it is... I will say that KING, KGW, KREM, KTVB and NWCN were beyond overdue for a change.
