  1. This is how Dubai TV and IRIB TV3 wait for iftar time during Ramadan.
  2. This is how the announcement of the exact date for Eid looks like in Malaysia, as happened last night local time. It is a tradition in this country to have a representative from the many royal families in the Malay states to announce the date for not just Eid, but for the start of Ramadan and for Eid Adha. The announcement is pre-recorded. In Brunei, it's a slightly different case, the announcement is done by a religious representative, slightly longer duration and broadcast live.
  3. A promo from the Malaysian state broadcaster announcing the date of the sighting of the new moon and list of places around Malaysia where the sighting of the new moon are made. The promo here is for the start of Ramadan from last year which happened in mid-April in the Gregorian calendar. Sighting of the new moon is also performed for the start of Eid on the month after Ramadan and the start of the last month of the Islamic calendar.
  4. A sponsored call of prayers commercial for one of the TV stations in Malaysia. This only happens during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. This practice is also used in Bangladesh.
  5. Malaysian pay TV broadcaster promotes programming for one of the Indian celebrations that is not included in Malaysia's public holiday calendar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjgsU4ktzo0
  6. Ramadan has just started here in Malaysia, and typical to TV stations here is to show a list of break of fast/iftar times in various locations, from east to west, since all stations broadcast nationally. Not sure about other Muslim-majority countries though.
  7. It's almost Ramadan now for Muslim-majority countries and this pay TV broadcaster promotes its programming for the fasting month.

  9. It's the first post of 2022 in this thread (and also a long time since I disappeared from this thread) so I give you some videos from my country: Two full Buletin Utama broadcasts from the era which had colourful graphics and jib shots of their then-new studios near Kuala Lumpur (during that time they also used standardized Malay accents similar to Indonesian - used from 1988 to 2000 - which you will notice throughout these two videos): ************* The first hour of RTM's coverage of Malaysia's first man in space in 2007: And TV3's (minus the launch):
  10. KXTV, 2004, probably around the presidential campaign/election season. Recorded on D-VHS tape as the uploader has some clips of HBO and HDnet recorded on the same format as these two clips, just that the latter two are in HD. https://youtu.be/Ovg7pWcYO2A https://youtu.be/b34L0XlnMVk (PS: My first post after a very long hiatus from this site.)
