I'm close to Bobeth's situation with WGCL, I wish I could speak more on the issue but knowing the fact of I KNOW Scott Jones lurks this form he'll just take what I posted and repost it for his website as if it's his own personal report.

Long story short we'll hear (See) Bobeth Yates freelancing very soon.

Bobeth is currently working for CBS 4 Miami.

News of another  anchor  leaving WGCL will be announced with the next coming days.

    I have an inside source.

A tad bit surprised this anchor hasn't made it public they've left WGCL yet.

    Only thing I'll say is.

    1. Jan 1st, 2021 was the last news report they did for WGCL (hasn't been seen on tv since)

    2. Jan 7th, 2021 Was contractually their last day at WGCL.

I know Astrid Martinez threw all her anger out - at Meredith, not the GM or ND at the station. I wonder if she would return to WGCL under different ownership?

Doubt it. It's too much of a revolving door at WGCL.

    Vince Simms

    Sharon Reed

    Thomas Roberts

    Ben Swan

    Alicia Roberts

    Mike Dunston

    Brittany Miller

    Markina Brown

ect (Thats just to name an EXTREME few of anchors that have been left that station)

It only makes me think what type of pay cuts did anchors such as

**Tracye Hutchins and Jennifer Valdez have taken to stay at WGCL.

**I can kinda understand with Tracye's situation.....She said in (A local ATL raido) interview shes been staying in Atlanta for the sake of her daughter's education which makes sense.

Well another CBS 46 Departure, this time it's Weekend Anchor and nightside reporter Brittany Miller leaving after 5 & 1/2 years there to go back to NYC to be closer to family. I can say personally this she will be missed here in the ATL as one of the better reporters i've seen come and go here in Atlanta.

Very good anchor but Brittany Miller rubbed a couple people the wrong way at WGCL (behind the scenes)......I'll reveal that story but that story has to come with at a **''Price''

**By Price, I don't mean money.

It seems like WGCL is cleaning house. A good bulk of staff has left since Steve Doer left.

    Sharon Reed
    Alicia Robert

    Ayiana Cristal

    Vince Simms

    Mike Dunston

    Molly McCollum

    ect.

She stated it’s just for tomorrow. Honestly she must really be committed to that station with as many times they bounce her around I’d left long ago.

I think it has to do with her daughters education they reasons why she's stayed for so long.

I agree CBS46 (WGCL) has played hot potato with Tracye over the years.

WGCL's morning anchor Karyn Greer is leaving the morning anchor shift for a management role at the station. She's becoming the 'content and community engagement manager,' involving her more in talent mentorship, story development, etc. Note that she is retaining her noon anchor role and will also lead certain key reports. Replacing her at mornings is Rob Hughes from WCNC. Amid Meredith turmoil, at least the station's smart to keep someone as well-known as Karyn around.

I'm happy for Karyn she's been in Atlanta for quite some time. She knows the landscape of that market.

2 other tid bits about WGCL

    1. They'll be revealing their new, redesigned news set next week

    2. I heard that Fred Campagna might be getting moved to the weekend meteorologist anchor spot.

I really hate Covid19, it put everything on pause.

But are we sure it’s because of COVID-19 or is it because of new management? Let’s be real, WGCL has trouble keeping that male anchor chair filled.

I hit the nail on the head, It was Rick.

  10. Two employees at CBS 46 (WGCL) tested positive for Covid 19

    Quote

Two unnamed CBS46 employees have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

“Both individuals are doing well,” according to a CBS46 (WGCL-TV) statement released today.

This past Saturday, the station broadcast its 6 p.m. newscast outside the building while “our cleaning crew deep cleaned the facility with CDC recommended cleaning products.” The CBS46 offices are on 14th Street just east of I-85 not far from Georgia Public Broadcasting.

CBS46 declined to say who specifically has the virus, citing privacy issues.

“We had already taken measures to operate with as few employees as possible onsite and the station and studio are cleaned twice daily per CDC guidelines,” the statement said. “Given our civic responsibility to the citizens of the Atlanta metropolitan area, WGCL CBS 46 will continue to provide news and information to the community.”
