Airchecks probably don't get much older than this!
Almost certainly the oldest surviving complete newscast yet to be discovered (special emphasis on complete)

Going way back to perhaps the earliest newscast I have run across yet from Atlanta, WSB's 6:00 newscast from December 4, 1967

First, Merry Christmas to you
Looking at the WVEC YouTube channel and they've been busy uploading their Navy Christmas/Holiday Salute specials ranging from 1988 to the most recent one I see was uploaded today being from 2012.

For the sake of himself and anyone who was on the road that night, let's hope someone else drove him home last night.

Just saw this on Facebook. Definitely a shocker.
Wonder if (if they haven't done so) WJW had any mention of her passing since Denise was an anchor there for a good chunk of the 1980s.

From the WVEC YouTube account, the station uploaded a 1986 special called "It's a Navy Christmas"

Nexstar Media Group Enters into De-Leveraging Buy/Sell Agreements with Fox Television Stations. Nexstar to Purchase Charlotte’s FOX and MyNetworkTV Affiliates for Approximately $45 Million and Divest Seattle’s FOX andMyNetworkTV Affiliates and Milwaukee’s FOX Affiliate for Approximately $350 Million.
The Charlotte stations being sold is a mild surprise. Not so much WITI (previously a FOX O&O following the absorption of New World Communications until it and several other smaller O&O's were sold) or the KCPQ/KZJO duopoly (FOX apparently has been eyeing them for years going back at least to 2014 {with the reverse compensation dispute that saw FOX threatening to pull their affiliation, which would have ended the day before the 2014 NFC Championship Game})

Rob Braun shilling for a local bank. maybe he can do what his dad did and take over the commercials for the Craftmatic Adjustable Bed.
Funny you bring that up (and not just because that happens to be my channel )
Not sure if this is a downgrade or lateral move for Rob.

Based on this latest development, a number of NBC News personnel, most prominently longtime Pentagon correspondent Pete Williams are demanding answers from the brass.

Why would it tarnish her at all? Is she only supposed to have well-liked people on her show to talk about cooking and flowers?
60 Minutes correspondents interview unpopular people accused of crimes all the time, and press them on the details of the crimes they are accused of. Why shouldn't she be able to do the same?
Agreed. About the only way I could see this interview tarnishing Tamron Hall is if she tosses a series of softball questions to Lauer and ignores asking any tough questions.

Figured I may look a little deeper apt that site later (just made a quick peek and the search results display reminds me of the site for C-Span)

Looks like the sexual misconduct accusations that led to Matt Lauer getting the axe were more serious than previously thought, as a former colleague at NBC is quoted in Ronan Farrow's upcoming book "Catch and Kill" as accusing Lauer of raping her while the Today show crew was covering the 2014 Sochi Olympics

And off the heels of the loss of Cokie Roberts, it's being reported that former NBC and ABC correspondent Sander Vanocur has passed away at 91.
Among the things Sander was known for would include being a panelist on the first Kennedy-Nixon debate and being the last surviving member of the "Four Horsemen", as NBC used to call their 1960s convention floor quartet of Vanocur, Frank McGee, John Chancellor and Edwin Newman.

From Ellis Feaster's channel, here's a 1994 episode of WPVI's long-running children's show "Captain Noah"
From a search I did after running across the video, this is apparently the first full episode of the series that I've found an upload of.

Tough year for Cleveland viewers with several well-known personalities passing on gets tougher with the death of Fred McLeod last night at the age of 67.
McLeod, most recently the local television play-by-play broadcaster for the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, had previously filled the same role with the Detroit Pistons as well as working as a sports anchor at WJ(K)W (where wife Beth is currently working as a meteorologist) and WDIV.

I think it's safe to say that this might be the earlier surviving footage of anything from Hampton Roads

Meanwhile in Hampton Roads, there are two departures: weekend morning meteorologist Crystal Harper is leaving WVEC this coming Sunday and traffic reporter Kristen Crowley is leaving WTKR next week.
Figured someone was heading out the door once Craig Moeller returned. Hoping for the best for both Crystal Harper and Kristen Crowley.

From the pannoni4 channel, a June 30, 1981 edition of the CBS Evening News. To my knowledge, this is the first time I've run across a CBS newscast from the period where they were transitioning from the Walter Cronkite era graphics to use Handel Gothic as the font before switching early in 1982 to the Serifa typeface used until late November 1987.

So it looks like meteorologists returning to the Hampton Roads region after leaving elsewhere looks like a trend so far (coupling the following with Jeff Edmondson returning to WAVY)
Craig Moeller, newly dropped from KSDK in St. Louis, heading back to WVEC to return for a "great opportunity" (WVEC already has 5 meteorologists and per a tweet by Jeff Lawson he's going to be meteorologist number 6)

Short (partial?) ABC Evening News broadcast covering Richard Nixon going to China, with Sam Donaldson (probably one of the earliest clips where it was obvious Sam had some cheap Astroturf on his head) anchoring.
