Any idea as to who did the pre-1998 WEWS graphics?, they lasted until the got rid of the longtime "Circle 5" logo (which lasted for over 30 years) and replaced it with a new logo and graphics done by Novocom.

They debuted the Novocom graphics around late April 1998. But according to a comment on YouTube, they kept the 1995 set until it was replaced in October that year.

I have no idea who did those graphics. I don't even know who did the 1995 version of WEWS Ohio's Most Watched NewsTeam Graphics as seen in these videos. I don't know if the 1996 version replaced the 1995 version because of seizure concerns.

I also don't even know who did the late 1997 WJW graphics as seen here.

  2. WEWS's set from around 1984 did go through some changes as one other user mentioned earlier. The 1st change was the logo overhead. The second was the monitors area behind the anchor desk was replace with some kind of platform with lines on it. The third change was the removal of the Eyewitness News logo and the background became a Cleveland skyline. A WEWS logo has been added to the front of the desk and a color change took effect.  Just compare them.

  3. Check out WEWS's new 5 On Your Side Investigators chyron. At least they done away with the odd one. And there's even a bug logo on the upper left hand corner.

Looks like WEWS is finally showing symptoms of the Scripps-itis..

    Here's a screencap from Mike DeWine's presser....

Speech bubble above the chyron. It is like the chyron is talking.

This article on the announcement of What's New actually touches on Lunch Break's cancellation, only briefly, but doesn't mention why.

It seemed that Lunch Break was supposed to also have guest co-hosts in addition to WKYC stars.  The only one I remember who took part was Geraldo Rivera's wife.

Now as of today, the morning "news" now starts at 4:30am instead of 4am, and Live on Lakeside has changed its name to It's About You.

Don't be surprised if there's not a lot of actual news on the 5pm show.

So the Lunch Break was a flop and What's New rose from the ashes of the Phoenix that was Lunch Break.

You can't even stomach this. But 1993 was the prime year for WKYC. I remember these logos.

This was when the background was the 3 itself. Here are the backdrops themselves. Like I said before some of us can't stomach that Circle 3.

I can't even.  And we thought the 11Alive logo or WFAArrow logo was bad.

    THIS CANNOT BE.

(Maybe this conversation should move to a Graphics or TEGNA Corporate Thread?)

Take a look right here. Why does WKYC have to go for a circle logo? They are being a copycat.
