  1. The TWC forecast on WEVV doesn’t even have Evansville in the right county. They moved Evansville from Vanderburgh Co. to Spencer Co. These two counties don’t even border each other. Not surprised.
  2. Allen making weather changes at WEVV-Evansville as The Weather Channel moves in: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1AwJdv2HZP/ From Griffin Glasscock, Chief Met: "Good morning, friends! I have an update to share about my new schedule. Starting Monday, I will be forecasting weather for our early evening news: 4, 5 & 6PM. 44News is partnering with the Weather Channel. They will be doing weather for our morning news moving forward. I truly love the mornings, which makes this change extremely hard. I may not miss the 2:30AM alarm clock, but I will miss waking up with each of you every morning and working next to my best friends (Tommy & Megan). I look forward to spending my mornings with my sweet boy and husband. I hope you’ll continue welcoming me into your homes as you settle down for the night. Thank you for the constant support and kindness! Love y’all❤"

    In Memoriam

WTWO weekend meteorologist Dan Reynolds dead at 71 From a WTWO staffer via reddit:
  4. Breann Boswell exits WFIE-Evansville after off-air hiatus since end of 2024; leaving news: https://fb.watch/xJVhh0ymfF/
  5. WFIE's Randy Moore is retiring after long runs at WFIE, WEHT, and WTVW. https://www.14news.com/2024/11/08/14-news-randy-moore-announces-retirement-after-45-years-television/ Robinson Miles replaces him: https://www.facebook.com/Robinson14News/videos/938583144880852/?__tn__=%2CO
  6. Brad Byrd is departing WEHT (and WTVW) after 46 years; not calling it retirement. The guy is the real deal and I’m guessing he is just done with Nexstar or they want to cut costs. https://www.tristatehomepage.com/news/local-news/brad-byrd-to-leave-weht-wtvw/ https://www.facebook.com/100001492077485/posts/pfbid0muFUbrjj3z653qoeYk2Ypw5YvHfyovjP8eoZqwC1GSzkgrdfqzEBZAKrWFvVxeUjl/?
  7. It's like their folks are just having fun with their old system before the switch maybe.
  8. The 2/1 newscast and weather report with "Sexual Eruption" in the background of the forecast is...wow... It feels like it would go well with the film Idiocracy.
  9. Here's a better look at WFIE's odd use of a bug in the left and right corners on some shots.
  10. WFIE must be getting closer to switching to GrayOne. They tweaked their bug at right to swap between 3 things (main logo, app, and website) and made sure to remove the peacock from everything, and now they've added a SECOND bug during live shots so now it's on the left and right sides of the screen. And this is a different style chyron than they typically use, but same font.
  11. WTVW/Evansville is owned by Mission and operated by Nexstar, so I've got like zero hopes of it showing up on YTTV.
  12. WFIE needs some tweaking to the graphics they introduced last year. It seems like someone tries to customize something in-house incorrectly and you wind up seeing the font change from its default to Arial. Maybe they even need a new set or a new building. They have such a small building and the last set upgrade was just putting in a video wall but keeping a lot of what they had (wood grain finishes).
  13. WAVE has been doing this for at least a year or more, except for Days of Our Lives.
  14. WFIE is taking an interesting approach and using their new honeycomb graphics for 95% of news; for high school football coverage, they are using the WMC style lower thirds and colors.
  15. Well, WFIE has finally ditched the old Raycom graphics and moved over to Gray graphics. They're still using old versions of their logo on the weather bug and time/temp bug; it would look better flat and possibly all white in a gray/black translucent background. Many of the new graphics focus solely on the 14 and ditch the NBC peacock. Apologies for the poor screengrabs.
