  1. WFIE must be getting closer to switching to GrayOne. They tweaked their bug at right to swap between 3 things (main logo, app, and website) and made sure to remove the peacock from everything, and now they've added a SECOND bug during live shots so now it's on the left and right sides of the screen. And this is a different style chyron than they typically use, but same font. 🤔

  2. WFIE needs some tweaking to the graphics they introduced last year. It seems like someone tries to customize something in-house incorrectly and you wind up seeing the font change from its default to Arial. Maybe they even need a new set or a new building. They have such a small building and the last set upgrade was just putting in a video wall but keeping a lot of what they had (wood grain finishes).

  3. Well, WFIE has finally ditched the old Raycom graphics and moved over to Gray graphics. They're still using old versions of their logo on the weather bug and time/temp bug; it would look better flat and possibly all white in a gray/black translucent background. Many of the new graphics focus solely on the 14 and ditch the NBC peacock. Apologies for the poor screengrabs.

  4. WFIE has moved to a new set and is teasing improvements with a "lighting upgrade" in the studio, but more so in terms of graphics, they have updated the Gray ticker to more frequent use and some of their in-house commercials look to be featuring some of the elements that KFVS, WSAV, and WXIX have in their new graphics. Only time will tell...

  5. Might be a glitch in preparing to possibly launch new graphics, but WFIE has had this extra time/temp on the lower right corner of the screen at the start of their 10:00 news tonight. Disappeared after the first break when the Gray weather ticker appeared.

  6. WEHT/WTVW still use TriStateHomePage.com as their awful address, but it's not the worst I've seen.

I also don't understand why they toss to reporters like this: "Eyewitness News' John Doe has the story." instead of "Eyewitness News reporter John Doe has the story." It sounds wrong when they say it that way, even if the possessive (s') is there in writing.

And another dumb thing for WEHT/WTVW... their top-hour ID on their Eyewitness News shows on WTVW shows the WEHT station-ID. I mentioned this to them almost two years ago and it's never changed.

    And...they met halfway?

I saw this today at noon and it's making me think they're just going to hold off until they do any construction to build a new set. The set is at least ten years old except for some updated duratrans and weather branding. They are using some of the AR features that the already upgraded stations are using during weather.

WFIE is just "landlocked" in an aging building.

They did some hiccups at the beginning of the newscast.

I'd like to see these deployed by more Nexstar stations. WEHT/WTVW would look good with the KOIN graphics.
