  1. I'm sorry, don't remember her name.
  2. For years, the station used CNN's Carolyn Manno on a per diem basis. She was excellent, a real pro! Now that WNJU has physically moved into 30 Rock, Lerner has taken advantage of using WNJU reporters in the street and last Sunday, he chose to use a female sports anchor from 47. It was all too evident that English was her second language!' Then, Channel 4 exacerbated the situation by having her host the half-hour Sports Final!!!!! In my opinion, it was a disaster! Her accent was so thick, the station could have employed lower-third captioning. It's wonderful for people to be bi-lingual - think of Jose Diaz-Balart and Violeta Yas - their English is impeccable. Lerner is playing a dangerous game - Penny wise and pound foolish! Channel 4's audience deserves better.
  3. I know what I saw! And why not Ted Greenberg's reports be included? He's reporting for WNBC and therefore properly should show such identification! My point was if Greenberg can use the 4/47 Flag, why can't the local reporters? It's as simple as that!!!!!
  4. In English????
  5. I worked there! Did you? You call it hyperbole; I call it a deep disappointment in what I'm seeing on air.
  6. I refuse to accept the bar continually being lowered - especially when it comes to news. Why should we accept standards/quality on the descent? You might, I won't and never have in all of my years in broadcasting!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Yes, there is concern! It's rank amateur that things keep changing depending upon who's in the control room. After a newscast, that's when you experiment and settle upon a shooting style/pattern, you don't do it on the air. This is market #1 and the Flagship station of the NBC Television Network!
  8. Not only that, the station seems to have abandoned using the high shot (as above) that it promoted when they moved into 3B-East. Also, it appears that each director and/or producer is shooting the weather as he/she sees fit - no established shot pattern. Sometimes we see the weather presenter walk from the desk to the large video wall, other times the walk is covered by a graphic. There are times the master shot of that large video wall is head-on, other times the camera is farther to the left. Then there's a difference in now tight that shot it. Sometimes I can see shoes and then there are shots from the calves up. Who's running the store? No one!
  9. Bingo!
  10. You're right. Monday indicates 4:00 a.m. start, then, as of Tuesday, it's 4:30 a.m.
  11. My FiOS guide (05) shows 4:00 a.m. as the start time for tomorrow morning.
  12. Two wars in full bore - death and destruction! If you want to spend the holiday with your family, work somewhere else!
  13. Little should be surprising in these days when the green-eyeshades rule and responsibility to the audience has been dreadfully diminished! Bah, humbug!
  14. Let's not forget that the "from before (3K) " had been cut down and cut back due to Covid. I agree the severe 90-degree angles are awful - corners should have been rounded. I also don't like the gray used around the "4" on the anchor desk. I continue to believe the flagship station of the NBC Television Network deserves a more substantial and better-looking set!
  15. From what I've been able to research - 3K is 2,668 Sq. Ft. 3B (Total) is 4,060 Sq. Ft. So, if Miss Gussow's math class did its job, half of 3B is about a 1/3 smaller than 3K.
