Obviously not the first time NBC has used talent from their key station on a national level
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but WPLG was the last station in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale to have not switched affiliations. As some of us remember, WTVJ switched from CBS to NBC in 1989 (since the latter bought them out two years earlier), and WSVN switched from NBC to Independence, then Fox that same year or so.

You can rest assured that Sinclair and NBC are locked into a multi-year agreement, according to the link below. I didn't hear anything regarding The Hearst Corporation and their NBC affiliates, though I'm guessing they could be the ones involved in the potential dispute. Reminiscent of what happened at CBS regarding the Jaguars/Chiefs Week 1 NFL game back in 2019, ESPN suffered a malfunction of their own during the Auburn/Kentucky College Basketball game earlier today. https://awfulannouncing.com/college-basketball/abc-auburn-kentucky-technical-difficulties.html

Usually when I download videos off of YouTube, I keep them for private use. From now on, I would ask the user(s) before reposting clips on there.

Discovered composers & publishers of music themes
J.W. Rodriguez replied to promoguy98's topic in News Music & Voiceovers
Thought I'd keep this thread alive by asking a question. A friend of my family that watched a TV station that used the theme and promo in question is wondering which composer came up with it in the 1980's? HINT: It was a nod to a longtime slogan famously used by American Express. The two station IDs attached will explain. WNOL Station ID 1986.mp4 WPMT (Independent, Now Fox) Station ID 1985.mp4 -
Even though this was mentioned in the 'In Memoriam' thread of the General TV section, I figured this deserves its own thread. Bob Uecker, iconic Milwaukee Brewers broadcaster, dies at 90

Not sure what thread this would fit in, but for those in Northeastern/Central, PA, you may want to look at this. Has it even been resolved yet?

Head's up, Rangers, Knicks, Devils and Islanders fans.......MSG Networks may be dropped from Optimum.

In Pittsburgh, Celina Pompeani Mathison, who gave birth to a son in September of last year and is also well known for her previous association with the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins, has made the irreversible decision to leave KDKA's Pittsburgh Today Live and the entire television business to focus more on spending time with her family.

Hey, a friend of mine who watches the KTLA news broadcasts online is wondering why they have reporters doing live shots outside an undisclosed location in Hollywood. Isn't the undisclosed location an upper portion outside at their studios at Sunset Bronson (or Old WB as it's referred to on Wikipedia)? Makes perfect sense if you ask me.

The most recent one being KCAL's Chauncy Glover. -
KCBS 2/KCAL 9 - CBS Los Angeles News Thread
J.W. Rodriguez replied to Roadrunner's topic in Los Angeles News
Could not have happened at a worse time and a worse day, especially given the fact that its Election Night. I'm sure they won't have a tribute for him until tomorrow at the earliest. Correct me if I'm wrong. -

It could also be possible that they had no other open positions for him at the station, if I were to guess.

Another departure in Central PA. Danielle Miller is leaving WPMT, just two weeks following the departure of Cyera Williams, who I'm assuming (since the latter said she wasn't going to be too far from the region) is likely Philly bound, but that's just my guess. As for Miller, no word yet on where she's headed. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1048096710654597&set=a.521232476674359 Also, of note, this is the third departure for the Harrisburg/Lencaster/Lebanon/York, PA market in over 3 weeks, as former WGAL meteorologist T.J. Springer left for WOFL in Orlando.

Former longtime CBS News correspondent Phil Jones, who had been with the network for 32 years until his retirement in 2001, died this past weekend in Florida at the age of 87. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/phil-jones-former-cbs-news-correspondent-dies-at-age-87/ar-AA1ppqRf?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=b05b7b04f4dc4977bdfd13e8d7af27ba&ei=19&fbclid=IwY2xjawE5FIdleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHcSndJkEPlHjsxnAdgB-onIcVNF5OM3SomJYnl-pNHXhUIqM8GmZdF8oxg_aem_vJzDm_XphL_mW6_H8DLFCg

I have a cousin who lives in White Plains, NY, and he's trying to find out when WCBS (and perhaps the other CBS O&O's) started implementing the CBS mornings bug on the Evening News broadcasts.
-
To the surprise of no one, WCBS kept the same NFL on CBS graphics for 2024, which I would have to think will be the final year they'll be using them. Usually when CBS debut new graphics every few years when they have the Super Bowl, WCBS usually keeps the same graphics for the preseason then switches to the new ones the next season. I imagine it'll be the same scenario for WNYW come next preseason, even if Fox debuts new graphics for SB LIX, which I doubt will happen since their NFL graphics will only be 2 years old come September. Speaking of the Giants switching from WNBC to WNYW, why haven't they posted anything on the internet regarding an announcement? I looked it up and couldn't find anything. Was this announced in private or something?
