swillh2k2 205 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I just installed the WBTV mobile app for Android today. When I opened it up, I saw what looks like a new logo for the station: However, they're still using the current logo on air.
TennTV1983 807 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Who knows. They might be getting ready to get the new Raycom graphics.
kjohnson 17 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 It's actually pretty nice. It's a nice update to the current logo. I doubt many (if any) would complain about a change like that.
groupwfan 97 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I don't compain. If you think that's cool, some of 'BTVs old promos on youTUBE from the 70s and 80s have their 1978 "W3TV" logo. (The "3" in their old logo was also used as the "B".)
KRAP-TV 146 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 2 things: 1) I can't believe CBS let WBTV get away with desecrating (might be too strong a word) their logo for so long, and 2) I'll miss the bikini 3 logo!
tw-804 194 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Some of the Raycom websites have been redesigned with different logos (WOIO, KOLD, WXIX, WTOC, WAFF, WECT, etc) maybe WBTV will be next with the logo. WWBT here in Richmond unveiled their new news app and their logo for the app looks like WSFA's (except the square is blue and 'SFA's is red), but they still use the current logo on-air.

In terms of the websites, Raycom has been upgrading all of their stations to the newest version of the WorldNow platform. The smaller logos were likely done to free up space for the station promo and weather banners at the top of the page without having the actual full-sized logos being in the way or made too small to read.
Samantha 2902 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 That definitely looks like it's made to match the new Raycom design series.
