Fox owned-and-operated station WNYW has promoted Joel Waldman, who has been doing reports for the station since June as a freelance reporter, to a full-time position as investigative reporter, as reported by the "New York Daily News".

Before joining WNYW, New Jersey native Waldman was a general assignment reporter for Journal Broadcast Group's Tucson, Arizona ABC affiliate KGUN, where he covered the mass shooting outside a Safeway in suburban Casas Adobes by Jared Loughner that critically injured U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords and killed 14 others.

He also worked a general assignment reporter at CBS O&O WFOR in Miami and Hearst Television's ABC affiliate WPBF in West Palm Beach. Waldman began his television career in 1996 as a producer for the then-fledgling MSNBC.
