almostthere 0 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I hear choppppppppa 4 is returning to WNBC soon
anthonyz 26 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Currently, Chopper 4 is the same copter that WNYW uses due to budget cuts back in 2008.
Weeters 1969 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 http://www.nbcuni.com/corporate/newsroom/nbcuniversal-makes-major-investment-in-nbc-owned-tv-stations Adding or increasing the hours of helicopter coverage in several markets So maybe.
Jess 1116 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 As said in the Valari Staab interview, WNBC and KNBC are indeed regaining their own choppers. And to be honest? I think Chopper 4 is already back. During that building collapse a few days ago, they were running raw chopper feed video. The pilot said "Chopper 4" in what appeared to be off-air communications to the station. They wouldn't do that if it were still a shared chopper, right? For the other stations, Staab indicated the decision to have their own chopper was up to the individual managers. Though given the sudden, marked increase in Chopper 10 mentions and stings, I'd wager WCAU has also regained its chopper.
IceManNYR 240 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 During the building collapse coverage WNBC and WNYW were using the same chopper so Chopper 4 is not back yet.
Weeters 1969 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 When is the contract with FOX5 will be over! This summer, if I recall correctly.
ElliotJones 52 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Comcast is investing heavily in their stations. This'll happen.
