anthonyz 26
Currently, Chopper 4 is the same copter that WNYW uses due to budget cuts back in 2008. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/11582-chopppppppa-4/#findComment-69615 Share on other sites

Jess 1115
As said in the Valari Staab interview, WNBC and KNBC are indeed regaining their own choppers. Â And to be honest? I think Chopper 4 is already back. During that building collapse a few days ago, they were running raw chopper feed video. The pilot said "Chopper 4" in what appeared to be off-air communications to the station. They wouldn't do that if it were still a shared chopper, right? Â For the other stations, Staab indicated the decision to have their own chopper was up to the individual managers. Though given the sudden, marked increase in Chopper 10 mentions and stings, I'd wager WCAU has also regained its chopper. IceManNYR 240
During the building collapse coverage WNBC and WNYW were using the same chopper so Chopper 4 is not back yet.
