NBC5 in Dallas gets new NBC O&O graphics

According to the NBC DFW Facebook page, NBC5 in Dallas got the new NBC O&O graphics that were meant for NBC Bay Area. Thoughts?

These are not the NBC Bay Area graphics. The design, which looks to be the "Look G" hunted at in a private folder on NBC Artworks' Vimeo, is more similar to the graphics rolled out earlier this year on KARK, which is presumably served by NBC Artworks but not an NBC-owned station. Above that, there have been some tweaks to the graphical design, favoring an all-blue motif and Arial font sprinkled in.

 

I need to see more to judge, but it almost looks like a compromise design - a little bit like the KNSD block look but with more gloss and animation.

I see they also modified their logo and made it solid blue dropping the black and red elements that were reminiscent of the old "Square Star 5" logo of the past under the LIN-led management.
