WXmanTim 88
I don't know when they made the change, but KTRK has modified their news set. They've replaced the rear-projection monitor behind the anchors with a 3x3 grid of plasma monitors. Not terribly surprising as the RP image always looked rather muddied and dulled, especially with darker skyline shots. Guest
Makes sense. RP imagery is often, as stated, distorted and faded and these monitor arrays are becoming cheaper and cheaper. Spring Rubber 703
Yeah, it seems like a lot of stations and national networks are abandoning RP in favor of plasma monitor grids. sfomspphl 490
Meh...don't care much for the black grid lines. The seamless of the RP was better in my view. But where's the 2012 newsmat when you need it. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/12192-ktrk-set-modification/#findComment-76312 Share on other sites
MorningNews 1448
Noticed a few weeks ago that the station removed the glass that covered the tv screens on both sides of the set. I like it.
