“My reasons for asking to leave are strictly personal. I have a supportive husband, two wonderful daughters, and a great Mom in Southern California and need to be with them at this time.” Schwartz informed the newsroom of her decision to leave WFLD this morning, station sources say.

 

 

 

The only surprise here is that she was unable (or unwilling) to make serious changes @ WFLD. Why she took the job in the first place, no one knows. One can only hope the next leadership/management team can get things going in January 2013.

 

Nov. ratings: At 9PM weekdays: WGN 9 had a 4.0 rating (up 8.1 percent) and Fox 32 had a 2.1 rating (up 16.7 percent). Total household ratings from 6-7AM weekdays: ABC 7 3.2 (down 3 percent); WGN 9 - 2.7 (flat); NBC 5 2.0 (up 25 percent); Fox 32 - 0.8 (down 20 percent); CBS 2 0.6 (down 14.3 percent). One Nielsen rating point represents 34,935 households. --Robert Feder
