Okay. Bumping because the LA Times state that Tribune has made the SEC paperwork to spinoff its papers to Tribune Publishing Company. They are expected to close on the split by the second quarter of 2014. Of course this comes after several layoffs in their newspaper unit within the last few weeks.

I still think its not over, as potential buyers are probably still ready and willing to buy some of those papers.

Now Poynter is stating rumor that News Corp could be making bidding on the Trib papers.

Meanwhile, Crain's Chicago Business has stated that the main Tribune Company will have its first meeting next week, in which they will ask its shareholders for their approval of a new name, Tribune Media Company.

Okay, the spin-off is completed. Tribune separated it Publishing from its TV/Radio services this morning.

The Papers is now under a separate company, the Tribune Publishing Company. Their new website uses that same design as the LA times site.

The company with TV/Radio and other digital properties is now called the Tribune Media Company. Tribune Broadcasting will continue to be the subsidiary of Tribune Media. Here's their new website.

If they want to bring the "T" back. Why not go back to this?

So now the spin off is completed are they gonna buy back those stations that is own by Dreamcather?

Maybe for WNEP. But it's going to be tough in the Hampton Roads. Since MG/LIN showed proof that WVBT is not within the top-4, that means WGNT is within the top four. Stations can't form a duopoly if both stations are within the top-4. Trib Media could buy one of the stations and wait fo WGNT to go down to 5th place and then buy it later, or wait until WGNT reaches 5th again, and then buy both of them.

Because it's a logo from the 1980s that LOOKS like it's from the 1980s?

(The one they're using now doesn't exactly look "contemporary" either, though)
