WGN Chief Meteorologist Tom Skilling will launch WeatherBug tomorrow night on WGN News at Nine. Weather anchor Paul Konrad will debut the system on top-rated WGN Morning News on Wednesday, May 23. TheMightyGringoChannel 0 Posted May 23, 2007 Share Posted May 23, 2007 The reason WGN is doing this is, because WFLD is moving in on their turf. Weather in Chicago has always been WGN's department. But now that Fox is really starting to invest in the weather department at WFLD (i.e. Power Doppler and WeatherWatch). The folks at WGN are probably feeling a little threatened,and want to ensure their position as Chicago's Weather Station. NBC 5 Chicago 165 Posted May 26, 2007 Share Posted May 26, 2007 I thought WMAQ-NBC 5 had the weather bug as well. They just call it their Weather Plus Network. "Real time information in the neighborhods" They use to show the video of the locations like WGN is now doing. But they now just show the current conditions at the sites.
