  1. I'm happy they have a voice over again but I hate the voice. I'm hoping this is a temporary open and within a year or so there will be new ones. The newsroom portion just seems disjointed. I suspect new graphics by the 28 Olympics as these will be 7 years old and the Olympics are in LA in 28. I wish they would have gone back to using the Tower with the updates as their music since they're emphasizing that they're in the NBC tower in their open.
  2. WMAQ did a 1 hour special 9pm election coverage yesterday on YouTube and their streaming channel. It was done solely in the new newsroom. They had a desk put in as well which I thought was nice. It truly was a great way to show off their new space with the different camera angles and monitors throughout. Here's the whole episode on YouTube.
  3. I think we're overthinking this here. WLS's is still abc7chicago.com despite having Eyewitness News. Just my two cents but I don't think websites need to change just because of switching to the Eyewitness News branding. They're still ABC 7's...
  4. Noticed Chris Warren today on CNN. Not sure if he's been there or if this is his first day.
  5. Here's the Sun-Times article.
  6. Now this is total speculation however Evrod Cassimy posted this on his facebook. Obviously we know they're moving their newsroom and getting a new studio. By this post though it seems like they're saying goodbye today so I'm wondering if today at either 11am or 4pm will be the launch with the morning team being in the new studio tomorrow. The newsroom looks like it has already moved upstairs. Regardless the debut is imminent.
  7. WGN to premier new weekday show called WGN Take Two on Monday Sept 8 @ 2pm. From viral moments to highlights from recent WGN newscasts including WGN Morning News, the show will also take viewers on a journey through some of the stations most memorable moments from the WGN-TV vault! Looks like most anchors will provide commentary before and after clips. Looks like this will replace Dr. Phil at 2pm however my YouTubeTV guide has yet been updated to reflect this.
  8. In the overnight hours TWC decided to air KITV's coverage (which is owned by Allen Media) of the Tsunami instead of having their own coverage. At times they did not take commercial breaks and at times coverage would be suddenly interrupted with a commercial. I only watched for a couple hours but was going back and forth between TWC and Fox Weather. Fox Weather actually had good live coverage.
  9. Because they're not rebroadcasting that newscast?
  10. I've been watching AMHQ all week and the Local on the 8s were all normal except for what you observed today.
  11. Alex Wilson posted on Facebook that she and Mike are alternating weeks and wont be together until some time in June. This is due to severe weather and one of them would be on after Weather Unfiltered for coverage when needed. They're basically in standby mode. The schedules day to day have been crazy. I believe this is due to the simple fact that people are taking time off. With Chris and Jacqui's exit that leaves them a little short so there has been a lot of shifting around when one is off or they just go to a 2 anchor format.
  12. Gosh.. this show is one of a kind. Seriously nothing else like it on TV.
  13. Jacqui Jeras just posted that today is her last day. She's on now with Felicia Combs.
  14. Chuck Goudie is heading to WMAQ
  15. Question.. how is this thread not considered a list and is allowed? All of these can be searched and found on YouTube if you're looking for newscasts back in the day. Why keep posting them here?
