I wonder who approved this to air. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/12934-wkmg-apology/ Share on other sites
ProButtonPusher 230
Despite what many think, stations generally don't have control over what games the Network gives them. I think they were more sorry they couldn't give viewers what they wanted, not for airing a Jags game. tyrannical bastard 3951
If a station is not a primary or secondary market for a team, they can plead their case to change their game if they can prove that there's a significant interest in a team or for airing a particular game. They're stuck if they're a primary or secondary market though, or if they are wanting to pick up a second game if their network doesn't have a doubleheader, or are blocked from airing a competing game while the primary game is airing in a primary market. Mrtraveler01 738
Here is a real good thread discussing more about the rules regarding how the NFL treats Orlando as a secondary market for the Jaguars. http://www.the506.com/smf/index.php?topic=15318.0 In my opinion, it seems pretty stupid. The only part of that market that could justifiably be part of Jaguars territory would be areas north of Daytona Beach. The rest of the market either follows the Buccaneers or the Dolphins. The only way they could ever gain traction in the Orlando market is if they start to win.
