CNN in a carriage dispute

Cable One, a mid-sized operator that has operations in cities like Boise, Idaho (among other places) has dropped CNN, CNN Espanol, and HLN, as well as TruTV, Boomerang, and TCM, in the latest carriage dispute between content provider and distributor. But, before you call this move a "right-wing conspiracy," Cable One happens to be owned by the Washington Post Company (or whatever the company's name will be after the Post's sale is completed).

Something's got to change when it comes to relationships between content providers and the "pipelines" that deliver it. One day, Network A gets dropped by a cable provider. Then, when you get fed up and switch to satellite or FIOS/UVerse, the same thing is guaranteed to happen with another network. People say that Government intervention is not the answer, but if not, what is?

"Turner and Time Warner are engaging in 1910-1940 era Paramount Pictures block booking style type of behavioral practices to force CableOne to carry the least unpopular channels so it could carry the more popular channels."

Huh, Cieloha said something that made sense for once. Nothing that wasn't obvious, but still.

TBS is getting yanked right as the MLB Postseason starts, too. Some of these spats have the most frustrating timing.
