ED2 144
Over the last few weeks, the following CTV stations have started broadcasting their local news in high definition: - CJOH Ottawa - ATV Atlantic Canada - CKCK Regina - CFQC Saskatoon These stations join CTV stations in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, and Winnipeg on the list of stations with HD newscasts. CTV Northern Ontario, CKCK Kitchener, and the CTV Two stations remain in SD. Viper550 291
I brought this up in the HD News thread, but Bell was being suspiciously slow with these transitions. I wonder why... ED2 144
I honestly would have expected Bell to shut down a bunch of these stations instead of shelling out the cash for HD equipment... Viper550 291
I'm still shocked that they killed off CKX-TV instead of switching it to The System Currently Known As CTV Two. Basically, you can't get CTV Two in Manitoba or Saskatchewan unless your provider is close enough to the Alberta border to care about The Network Formerly Known As Access (which also went cable-only recently), or you're on Bell (their preferred choice).
