Guest NewsHound
You seem to know alot about the Charleston on-air personalities to say you don't live in the market. Or do you? Besides, I agree with you on some of the mentioned observations, however I definitely have to differ with you on the graphics. The Allbritton graphics are horrible! Though 5 and 2 have the mandated packages from their corporate owners, the ones that 4 uses are definitely a step down from what they had several years ago when they introduced the current set they have. I don't live in the market, I just have visited there a lot to know what I'm talking about. cg41386 132
Regarding the Allbritton gfx, apparently WCIV and WSET now use the ABC promo font which makes these already bad graphics even worse. I was in Roanoke last month and watched part of a WSET newscast. Everything visual (gfx and set) was just awful. Mrtraveler01 738
I was in Roanoke last month and watched part of a WSET newscast. Everything visual (gfx and set) was just awful. I was always under the impression that Allbritton forgot they owned stations besides WJLA/NC8. sanewsguy 511
I was in Roanoke last month and watched part of a WSET newscast. Everything visual (gfx and set) was just awful. Wasn't their set previously used by WJLA? And WJLA has had their current set since 2001 so that tells you something... Of course the graphics are bad but they made them even worse by using the ABC promo font... Thundershock MN 169
What about the termination of the SSA for WTAT? all I know is that it will be terminated after the Allbritton/Sinclair sale. The LMA was terminated upon closing. Concurrent with that Sinclair & Cunningham finalized their asset purchase agreement by which Cunningham will acquire the assets of WTAT. And, entered into a Transition Services Agreement that will last up to 180 days in order to facilitate the transition to an independent WTAT. From the application: "STG, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, also currently provides certain services to WTAT-TV, Charleston, South Carolina, through an agreement with a subsidiary of Cunningham (“WTAT Agreement”). STG and Cunningham have entered into an agreement to terminate the WTAT Agreement with respect to WTAT-TV, effective immediately upon the acquisition by STG of the license of television station WCIV(TV), Charleston, South Carolina. Cunningham and STG have also entered into an asset purchase agreement pursuant to which, upon termination of the WTAT Agreement with respect to WTAT, Cunningham will acquire certain assets held by STG in connection with the operation of WTAT (including, without limitation, certain equipment and the rights in certain programming and other contracts) and STG shall no longer provide any programming or other services to WTAT; provided that the parties will enter into a short term Transition Services Agreement, consistent with industry standards and to last no longer than 180 days, in order to manage a smooth transition, a copy of which is attached at Exhibit 15. In addition, STG has agreed to continue to sublease to Cunningham certain tower space and will enter into an agreement to lease to Cunningham certain transmission facility space and associated equipment on an arms-length basis. Upon termination of the WTAT Agreement with respect to WTAT, STG certifies that it will not have any sharing agreements with, or contingent financial interests in, WTAT-TV other than the temporary Transition Services Agreement, and the transmission facilities sublease and lease described above" Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/13891-wciv-sold-to-hsh/page/2/#findComment-115640 Share on other sites

NewsMaster 226
I was in Roanoke last month and watched part of a WSET newscast. Everything visual (gfx and set) was just awful. Yep. Probably the worst graphics of all of the former Allbritton stations.
