LexTVandRadio 418 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 They have changed these up a little with a new version of the music. New: Old one:
Hexagonal10 84 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Music's not bad. But the open and ticker looks cheap
Journalist 894 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 The music is a definite improvement from Enforcer NG1. NG1 always gets tiring. I'm surprised that the intro was watered-down. I can see why they had to modify it because due to subtle hints of the former CBS O&O look, but now it looks really cheap, especially without the bold drop-shadows and gradient looking DIN fonts. The endshot with the logo and the city skyline is neat, prolly trying uniform itself to what the other CBS O&O's are doing as done previously. I also love the bumpers, professionally done. L3s' and the ticker on the other hand...errrr. Let's say it's unique.
ChesapeakeTV 312 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 This package doesn't really sit very well with me. The L3 and ticker waste huge amounts of space for no good reason, the open feels clunky, and the animation leaves something to be desired. I don't really care for the font treatment either. Overall, not very impressed.
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 i'll give them credit for trying to look like an CBS O&O station for about 7 years now. Not sure if they could just buy the CBS package from them? Not a fan of the bold drop-shadows and gradient looking.

LexTVandRadio 418 Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 I am waiting on a Gray graphics package one day. Well it can't be as bad as the Sinclair look.
MidwestTV 1240 Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Why the hell is the ticker doing what it's doing? Why does it need to be down there showing their slogan and social media stuff? If you're going to have the ticker, put some news in it! It's unnecessary having what they have their now. Plus it's distracting to me. I wanna spend more time looking at it than anything else.
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 Yes... Thank you. I've wondered that myself.
wkytdirector 8 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 The ticker has been updated to the standard Gray "SuperTicker" since this thread started. The plan is to change to a new graphics package from the Gray Hub sometime this fall, and we may be changing music to Arnold's CBS Local as well.

I like WYMT's look too with the ticker. Do you have a sample of the gray graphics package you all plan to use?
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 Cool, I look forward to seeing it this fall. I guess you all should be rolling out the new Sinclair look to WDKY soon too.
wkytdirector 8 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 That's the plan. Don't know what the timing is on it though

Are all stations owned by Gray Television switching to Stephen Arnold Music?
wkytdirector 8 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Latest timeline I've heard is new WKYT graphics in late October, and new WDKY graphics in early December.
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 I look forward to seeing it.
susquvalleywgal 521 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I really do like WKYT's graphics. Very nice. -- Matt
CLT-DCA-ORF-PTI 87 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Just being honest, I absolutely love WKYT's open. I love the animation, the cut of music and everything. I am interested to see what Gray comes up with, and with their purchase of WDBJ and their sister stations, if this be on all of those stations also.
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 Saw a promo this morning that had SAM CBS local music in it this morning.
wkytdirector 8 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 By 6pm, I mean 6pm on The CW Lexington, 27.2, or after football on 27.1
TheRolyPoly 2584 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I know this is off-topic, but how about new graphics for WDKY FOX 56, WKYT 27's news-sharing partners? I heard its coming in December.
wkytdirector 8 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 As far as I know, that is still the plan. The graphic artists over at the Gray Hub are integrating them into the WKYT graphics to make it much easier on producers to work with them.
