Once again, debauchery rules in New Orleans today as Carnival wraps up today. The Channel 4 crew gets into the spirit - how else? - by sporting costumes. Check the link below.

WVUE did the same thing too. WDSU's crew was dressed normally though. Not sure what/if WGNO did anything.

As someone who is also familiar with the market, I do love how the stations down in New Orleans get into the Mardi Gras celebrations, because it really is a holiday that has the whole city partying.

According to TV listings, WWL and WVUE started their coverage at 9:00 a.m. after the morning news while WDSU started at 7:00 a.m. All went on till 3:00 p.m. WAFB 9's sister station WBXH 39 / Cable 16 carried the LIVE coverage from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and was the ONLY Baton Rouge TV station to carry Mardi Gras LIVE.

Same can be said over in Mobile. WKRG traditionally blows out their programming from 9 to 5 with wall-to-wall coverage of the parades. WPMI carries 4 hours from 10-2 with the majority of the big parades, and WALA does coverage in existing programming and only preempts two hours in the afternoon.

The new wrinkle this year was WPMI covering the evening parades in the weeks leading up to Fat Tuesday on sister station WJTC.
