TheNewsFan 1 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Starting today, WWLP relaunched itself with it's new graphics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRStkXdF35w
Weeters 1969 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Holy mismatched lower third fonts. I'm sure people are going to say this is "Blue Helio", but I pick up a VDO vibe from some of the elements and the way things animate on/off in the opens. I can't seem to find their website anymore, though. I wonder what happened with them...
qunewsguy 378 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Mystery solved: The graphics were apparently done by "Linear Drift". https://vimeo.com/123311965 I can only assume it's an internal department of the former LIN corporation?
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Nice! Looks great. I am sure they will get calls about the logo and text out of the "safe zone" for SD viewers.
NEOMatrix 1307 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 There's some common elements amongst Linear Drift. Would they have happened to do the graphics for WKBN?
TennTV1983 807 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Nice! Looks great. I am sure they will get calls about the logo and text out of the "safe zone" for SD viewers. Not unless the SD feed is letterboxed, which is what the package is suggesting.
Hexagonal10 84 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 They made a bunch of LIN stuff, So is LIN going to switch to the MGFX or keep these after 3 years?
NEOMatrix 1307 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 They made a bunch of LIN stuff, So is LIN going to switch to the MGFX or keep these after 3 years? Since MG is under Sadusky, I do expect MG to reflect LIN more so than old MG so LIN is more than likely going to keep them.

I think what we knew as Blue Helio actually was/evolved into Linear Drift...

qunewsguy 378 Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I'm thinking LINear Drift given the clients represented, however it's possible this is Rey. I do see a couple common elements between the WABC graphics and WJCL (and also the CBS O&O look within the same package).
