aandersen93 5
I was recently looking at FCC records, and the KHAS license is back on air as KNHL. It's now just another church channel. However the ownership listed is conflicting. Some of it still says Hoak and other says Legacy Broadcasting LLC. TheOneManHerd 553
With those call letters, I thought they'd be showing hockey. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/14678-khas-back-as-knhl/#findComment-135665 Share on other sites
Samantha 2896
It's been back for several months. It's been a hard year for low-VHF TV stations; KHAS became KNHL, while KOTA is now likely to disappear and KSNV swapped channels with KVMY. aandersen93 5
Nebraska TV has been rough over the last 2 years overall. Now with NTV up for auction, it will be interesting to see what happens there, as Gray owns 8/10 stations in Nebraska now, and all but WOWT are master controlled from Lincoln at KOLN. Supposed to mean Nebraska Hastings Lincoln, even though the signal doesn't reach that far east. It barley hits Lancaster county. Thundershock MN 169
I was recently looking at FCC records, and the KHAS license is back on air as KNHL. It's now just another church channel. However the ownership listed is conflicting. Some of it still says Hoak and other says Legacy Broadcasting LLC. The FCC site is correct. Prior to the Gray/Hoak deal closing Hoak created a new subsidiary, Hoak Media of Hastings, LLC. Hoak then moved control of KHAS (now, KNHL) to the newly created holding entity/licensee. Technically, Gray didn't acquire the equity in Hoak Media of Hastings, LLC. It was essentially held separate and lopped off being sold/transferred to Legacy Broadcasting, LLC. As a result Hoak Media of Hastings, LLC remains the licensee but is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Legacy Broadcasting, LLC. FWIW, Parker Broadcasting of Louisiana License, LLC also remains the licensee of KMLU (formerly, KAQY) for similar reasons.
