A very sad and difficult time over the passing of Larry Stogner. Larry was always a fighter, a dedicated journalist and a true well respected legend in Raleigh-Durham broadcasting, and the NC Triangle. It is one reason why viewers in the NC Triangle turned on the news every night at Six O'Clock to watch Larry to find out what was happening at home in the Heart of Carolina, the entire country, and around the world. Larry Stogner was in North Carolina institution who deliver the news in Raleigh-Durham for nearly 40 years, He was a Vietnam veteran in the U.S. Air Force who served his country proud and strong. Today, we were honored to have Larry into our homes to deliver us the very best newscasts for so many years in The Heart of Carolina, and we were not just honored to watch Larry... it was a privileged.

TVNT would like to take this time to offer our prayers and condolences to The Stogner Family, the Larry's extended family at ABC 11 Eyewitness News (WTVD) on this very emotional and difficult time.

Rest In Peace Larry, Godspeed, God Bless You, and as always... Thanks for the company.

Thank You.

I consider him in a super-elite class of local journalists, right alongside folks like Hal Fishman, Stan Chambers, Jim Vance, Gordon Peterson, et al. We will never see the likes of these fine people ever again, it's a shame.

Shame indeed. I guess the top guy Raleigh has now is David Crabtree, having been on at WRAL since 1994.
