Thought this was pretty interesting....

I have been searching for a new job and I was looking at reviews from current or past employees on indeed from some of the station groups...Interesting to read about how much drama there is at some of these stations.

What a bunch of mindless fun to waste an hour on.

On the Nexstar reviews we find these 2 gems....

Plenty of abuse, but the food is fine if you have plenty of quarters.

And the second reviewer seems to be e long way from the Golden State Freeway(I-5) and the Glendale exit.

Abusive work environment

Multi Media Journalist/producer/editor (Former Employee) – Rockford, IL – December 8, 2016

The Rockford, IL station is terrible. The work stations are filthy and the management is not interested in helping you learn. They simply plop the workload on you and keep packing it on.

The station talent is not much better to work with. They are abusive as if they need to make your life miserable simply because they have not been able to advance to bigger stations which pay more. I do regret coming here and I am actively looking to get out. My advice is keep looking for something better and stay away from this place. Do not settle for a job like this, especially as a producer or Multi Media Journalist.

Pros

The vending machines work.

Cons

abusive work environment

A productive place to work.

Sports Reporter/Anchor (Former Employee) – Glendale, CA – October 5, 2016

KABC-TV was my first internship and I loved every moment of it. Working with the producers and the Anchors was worth every second of the internship and I will never forget my time at KABC-TV

That misplaced KABC review was an omen.

Just like any other company, if a workplace has mean managers, it will show up on Indeed, Monster, Glassdoor, and a lot of other places.

A good vending machine goes a long way toward happiness. We have chili cheese Fritos and cinnamon rolls. But others lament the lack of Diet Coke.
