Speaking of Detroit, I was actually able to pick up channels 2, 4, and 7 this morning on my antenna. :p Anyway, I caught the last local news cut-in for WDIV at 9:55 and I was quite impressed. Their graphics are beautiful.

Good for FOX 2, now channels 2, 4 and 7 have 11pm newscast except WWJ (The Worst Station in Detroit). CBS Detroit

don't even have the guts to bring back a news operation.

News Edge is also coming to KTVI soon. I saw a promo of it during the Rams game.

really, must have missed that. So that confirms all the rumors, and the anchor opening at KTVI. Finally a 3 station race to see who is number 1 at 10.

No, what it's called is "ratings". Their syndicated fare at 11pm would probably get better ratings then what they'd get if they started a newscast.

RATINGS = AD DOLLARS

Hey.. Maybe that's what it should come down to at WBBM in Chicago. Ratings for WFLD's "The Ten" (Chicago's version of NewsEdge) beats CBS 2 News at 10. Sure, Judge Judy at 10 probably wouldn't have any higher ratings than CBS 2 News at 10; however, just think of all the money they'd be saving by not producing a newscast at 10, not sending reporters/vans/photogs out at 10, and not paying Diann Burns to anchor the 10PM newscast.

If I ran FOX, ALL owned-and-operated FOX affiliates would be required to have their own NewsEdge.

In fact, FOX would be smart to make a national version of it.
