evv_mlis 26 Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 WFIE's evening newscasts last night began originating from the newsroom on their Alert Desk, which is the old weather center set crammed in the newsroom. They last put up a new set in 2009 and revamped the duratrans in 2018 or 19.
newsn8te 202 Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Wonder if they’ll actually get a new set of if they’ll just replace the duratrans with a video wall like they did with WTOC, WLBT and KOLD.

That wouldn't surprise me since their Mt. Auburn home is so small. I noticed they put some kind of video wall in for the Olympics. https://www.instagram.com/p/CSE71n0gvmu/
newsn8te 202 Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 Yep! The used to have the standard Raycom stand up area. They started placing it at the end of May.

WFIE later updated the backdrop in spring of 2017.
evv_mlis 26 Posted September 10, 2021 Author Posted September 10, 2021 They moved back at 11 am today. Really just a lighting upgrade… and still on Raycom graphics.
