Standing news anchors away from desk

I was wondering when this trend of news anchors standing for some or most of the news cast started? I'm guessing FOX5 was doing it first?

95% of the My9 news cast the anchors stand away from the desk.

FOX5 is about 50%.

I noticed on WCBS the anchors also stand for some report intros.
