With New Years fast approaching, what New Years Resolutions do you think stations in your market are making?

NYC:

CBS2 - We will change. (We can't promise for the better.)

NBC4 - Since we are NBC4-HD, we will make all our shows available in

HD. (Oh wait, we can't)

FOX5 - We will come up with another slogan before the end of the year. (Wait, that could be our slogan)

ABC7 - We will follow suit like the other ABC O&O's and become the first station in the market to offer the news in HD. (correction, the first ABC station in the market to bring the news in HD)

My9 - We will turn our news operartion into 5 day-a-week telenovellas and then run a recap broadcast Saturday Night. (broadcast available in spanish using the SAP button on your television)

CW11 - We will broadcast our finest programming in High Definition (enjoy a crystal-clear burning log for 3 hours)

KWQC- Our New Years resolution is to get new graphics and get RID OF HELLO NEWS!!, and tweak the backdrops on the set.

WQAD- Our New Years resolution is to STOP focusing on Illinois more than Iowa, and continue our great coverage of news, weather, and sports, and hopefully get sold to a GREAT company

WJBF: We Will hire two more camera operators, making it one for each camera and move away from motionless shots; However, we will renew both Mary Morrison and Cheryl Williams' contracts rather than hire talent who can both read and turn the pages of their scripts.

WAGT: We will continue to make our basement set look incredibly nifty, and keep hiring 23 year old reporters who surprisingly hold more skill than the counterparts twice their age. We still won't know what to call ourselves, be it Action News, 26 Action News, WAGT News, NBC 26, or NBC Augusta News. I suppose we'll decide on a monikor, and use it with a graphics package that still clearly says "WAGT NEWS".

WRDW: We will continue to be the only news team whose anchors you trust and believe can read, write, and conduct a conversation of wit and intelligence without a script. Unfortunately you still won't be able to understand a damn thing our chief meterologist is saying (But bless his heart, he's in God's waiting room), and laugh everytime our sports director is on, whom you assume is still in high school.

WBEK WBAU CW Augusta: We will continue to present Augusta's first 10:00 PM newscast

WFXG: We will continue to make you believe we're presenting Augusta's first 10:00 PM newscast

Pretty much status quo in St. Louis:

KMOV and KSDK will continue to ping-pong in the ratings. Dibs on KSDK routing KMOV in May Sweeps.

Before 2009 (when I figure her no-compete clause is up), Karen Foss will end up at either KMOV or KTVI in a Carol Marin (a la WMAQ) capacity, or she bumps an anchor (Sandy Miller at KTVI or Donna Savarese at KMOV).

KPLR will try to strengthen their newscast despite the fact Tribune doesn't know which direction its going in.

KTVI will continue to reign at 9pm, be a strong second from 5-9am, and third 5-6:30pm.

WRBU will continue to broadcast MyNetworkTV in 480p instead of 720p like the network broadcasts in. ::(

And lastly, KDNL will continue to flounder around with no news department (unless the station is sold), and be last in the market in overall viewers with the exception of WRBU.

Here in Fort Wayne:

WANE: Will remain #1 in all time slots.

WPTA/WISE: As Granite just filed for Chapter 11, each station will get new owners and the joint news/marketing/everything agreement will be phased out.

WFFT: Now that the station will finally have a full-power digital signal, WFFT will shut down their analog signal on Channel 55 so Qualcomm can offer MediaFlo cellphone TV service in partnership with Verizon Wireless (as V CAST Mobile TV) in the Fort Wayne market. Google up MediaFlo and you'll see what I'm talking about. Oh, and still no newscast.

WWL - Hopefully we will get our new graphics package and the exodus ends.

WDSU - We will continue to drive our viewers crazy with endless promos...back to back.

WGNO - Will we ever learn where our new home will be? Hopefully Bruce Katz can get some much needed help.

WVUE - Hopefully, we will get out from Emmis' crappy umbrella of futility and get a real owner.
