CHAT-TV in Medicine Hat, AB shutters all operations

Today, a Citytv affiliate in Medicine Hat, Alberta announced it is shuttering all of its operations, effective immediately. The station's owner, Pattison Media, explanied that the cause of the closure was due to financial reasons and that they've "explored every possible avenue to sustain operations". This is the third local Canadian station to shut down after CITL/CKSA in Lloydminster.

Canada never really cared when CHCA and CKX shut down. The increase in station shutdowns in Canada this past decade is really demoralizing for the broadcasting industry in Canada as a whole and I don't know if their industry can fully recover.
