Guest cfif Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Word is that WTVT weekend morning anchor [and weekday feature reporter] Bill Murphy is retiring Jan. 4th. He's been with 13 since 1994 and has been in this market for over 20 years (he hosted Murphy in The Morning on WTSP for a while). Sad to see such a great guy retire.
10Viewer 338 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I think Bill Murphy is a great personality. I've always liked him, but WTVT has sort of been pushing him to the side for several years now.

They should. As a features person, he was tolerable. As a hard-news man, he was puking. sorry cfif. Recently he anchored (and present tense) weekend am. Even then, he was not right for the position. I just did not get a sense of news from him. Selling a film, going to a circus, blowing up a microwave, yes - but not as a person covering news. Nice guy. Have fun in his retirement, I hope. adios!
