Chief-O 34 Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 I'm not sure if John C. Burns is still putting out new work, but his site's a pretty fun peek into the evolution of TV news graphics...... jcbd.com
qunewsguy 378 Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 http://www.troika.tv http://www.motionographer.com (includes loooooong list of links to other broadcast design sites, though not all TV-news related) http://www.novo.com http://www.lindakanedesign.com (hasn't been updated in about 4 years, still some very prominent, if old, work on there though)

One of my fave graphics are those of the Dr. Phil Show... You would say they are Rezn8's work (looking at ET and The Insider). I haven't seen them around there in their portfolio... Does anyone know if those Dr. Phil Show graphics were made by Rezn8 or an other company? The previous graphics for Dr. Phil were made by 168designgroup.
TSSZNews 1052 Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Someone thinks I'm comparable to some big design houses! Hooray!! -T
Tyler 151 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Someone thinks I'm comparable to some big design houses! Hooray!! You certainly are! When's you're new site going to launch? I'm eager.
qunewsguy 378 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Longest list of graphics companies I've seen yet is found here: http://tvpromos.blogspot.com/ One of the first firms listed includes the one that did KPIX's latest set of graphics. I'm still sorting my way through the rest.

I haven't seen them around there in their portfolio... I believe that Novocom did the Entertainment Tonight/The Insider graphics, as well as CNBC's new blue-and-chrome 3D look, not to mention others.
hopdevil 1 Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I believe that Novocom did the Entertainment Tonight/The Insider graphics, as well as CNBC's new blue-and-chrome 3D look, not to mention others. Novocom didn't do the current version of ET/Insider (they did a version about 8 years ago). REZN8, as FoxFan said, did the most recent version. As far as CNBC, if this is the blue-and-chrome look you referenced, that was done by Element.
Jess 1116 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Element did the current CNBC look? I know I heard the current one was done by Pyburn, and there's a still of it on the splash page of their shell of a website.
hopdevil 1 Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 Sorry for any misunderstanding. I was merely stating that Element did the some recent work for CNBC. Not knowing exactly what version of the 'new blue-and-chrome 3D look' jcdnow was referencing, I attached an example of Element's CNBC design hoping he would clarify his observation. I believe that the 2006 Pyburn design has been tweaked "in-house" over the last year or so, with a bit of help from various outfits like Element. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/cnbc/about_those_new_cnbc_graphics_49638.asp Element did the current CNBC look? I know I heard the current one was done by Pyburn, and there's a still of it on the splash page of their shell of a website.

jdcnow 14 Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Hopdevil, many thanks for the clarification and update. ;D I do see, now.
