ThunderJay27 45
Jim Giles, former KOTV (Tulsa, OK) chief meteorologist passed away nearly a month after retiring. He died of congestional heart disease. He started in weather in the military in the 1950's and has been KOTV's chief for more than 25 years. He's also responsible for the start of the "Pathfinder" radar feature used commonly in most live radars today. Here's the link and you can see all videos here. It was also nice to see that KJRH, a rival station in town, was sensical enough to put rivalry aside and honor Jim. Dan Threlkeld, KJRH's Chief has a tribute to him as well. He will be missed and condolances go out his family, KOTV, and my 2nd home of Tulsa, OK. http://kotv.com/special/Jim-Giles/ http://2worksforyou.com/video/jimgiles.asx http://2worksforyou.com/weather/askdan.shtml Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/251-weather-icon-passes-away/ Share on other sites
