According to Cecily Tynan's replies on her Facebook share of this post, she's replacing Charles Watson who recently left for WNBC New York.
-
Has there been any inklings as to how long the repairs could take? Or even if that area would be used for tv studios at all again?
-
Cecily mentioned that he's becoming a chief in their office send-off video as well. If so, it's well deserved.

10 has hired James Gregorio to their meteorology team. His first on-air shows were this morning. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/g8bN3D571R3Cbea8/?mibextid=oFDknk

According to Crossing Broad, the move was a cost cutting one and the plan moving forward is a Channel 6 approach of a solo anchor for the 6p & 11p shows with Ukee Washington. https://www.crossingbroad.com/2024/09/digging-up-some-details-on-jessica-kartalijas-cbs-3-departure.html

Maggie Kent announced on the newscast this morning that their studio is getting a "makeover". The newscast this morning is being shot from their newsroom & weather office.

ABC changing their logo; New graphics coming for ABC owned stations
ThunderJay27 replied to Briella's topic in Graphics
6ABC has updated the ticker. It operates like ESPN & CBS's. It's a scroll down, until the information is longer than the ticker box, where it crawls at that point. -
If Amazon grabs a part of the rights, I could see them just absorbing Inside. They're the only ones that, I think, would give them the time and space to really do what they do. NBC would have time constraints with the news and such.

To add to what @Abraham J. Simpson said, it wasn't just channel 6. Each Philly station sent reporters down. It happens on any major story between D.C. and New York. It doesn't take long driving between each of the 4 major cities, and it's more freedom to get stories on your own, than depending on other sources, in addition to providing extended coverage for national & international news agencies. Local out of town reporters were in Philly for some big stories recently, including the Fairmont Fire, and the I-95 bridge fire & collapse.

It looks like they are broadcasting from a different studio today. Are they doing some changes to their main studio? (I apologize for the picture quality, but I can't get a screen grab. Maybe some can help out with that please? )

On the latest showing of StormTracker 6 today at 4p, the radar scan that is in Montgomery/ Bucks County was active, along with the new Lancaster County one. So it looks like they have 2 of their own now, while the other stations rely on NWS only?
-
Channel 6 just aired a comercial, and showing now on air, that they added a new radar in Lancaster County to fill the gap in the western part of the area left by radar sites in Mt. Holly, NJ & Dover, DE. Did they get rid of their radar that was in Montgomery County for the longest time?

Devastating news . Praying for the families of those on board and the Channel 6 family

It looks to be that she's taken a leave of absence. https://www.crossingbroad.com/2023/11/jamie-apody-mystery-employment-status-update.html

Fred made his debut last night as co-host of the Wawa Welcome America concert & fireworks show. He did a good job. Hopefully he'll be behind the anchor desk tonight. If not, hopefully by Monday.
-
Idk why, but I always felt Mele was out of place at Channel 6. It didn't feel, to me, like there was a natural fit. I think Walter does fine by himself. Is there a reason why they're trying to add an co-anchor with him?

WPVI, 6ABC in Philly has updated their weather graphics to the new look. -
Keith makes it a point in all his social media replies that he is just filling in to help the team out. Although anything can change, but I would probably say Johnny is the one to work evenings of the 2, if they keep him there.

From what I've seen so far this week, the reporters are transitioning to the CBS News Philadelphia tag. So looks like the end of an era may be on the horizon.

This evening's newscasts featured the anchors anchoring from the NEXT Weather desk. I wonder what updates they're making to the main anchor area.

I just want to note how grateful I am that the entire 10 crew that was down on the Ben Franklin Parkway, broadcasting the Wawa Welcome America concert and fireworks show, are all safe. Alot of the team was very close to where those gunshots were fired. Also the 2 officers that were hit were treated and released, and the 1, miraculously, had the bullet stop in his hat! Alot of the team had to shelter under the desk, stages, wherever they could find a safe place, then, in some cases, run for their own safety. I'm sure it's sometimes scary to have to cover these kind of potential tragic events, but when you're now part in it, I can't even imagine. So glad everyone involved is safe. (From the operational standpoint, I don't have any video of the transition from them showing the fireworks to the breaking news.)

This week, it's NBC D.C.'s Somara Theodore filling on on the evening newscasts. Does anyone think these are possible tryouts? How soon could we see the open positions filled?

Violeta Yas is on 'CAU at 4p today. It was mentioned that she was "from our sister station in New York".

Meteorologist Krystal Klei is leaving the station for her hometown of Phoenix, AZ. Krystal Klei headed for Phoenix, via her IG With the recent retirement of Hurricane, and the maternity leave of Brittany Shipp, this will leave only Bill Henley & Steve Sosna as the only actual F.A.W. team members for the time being. Maybe more help from remote wether people (such as Brian James from Dallas) and Telemundo 62 temporarily?
